Go to your local paintball store and test the barrels they have there as the barrel is the first thing you will want to change.  But the best thing to do is to first play for a while and see whats lacking in your game and then mod accordingly.

A-5 RT$380
Double Trigger$29.95
Flatline$149.95
16in All American$75
WGP 70ci 45 CarbonFiber$200
ETC = $1026.75
Whomping newbies who have Markers that cost more than my entire setup...PRICELESS

This is simply not true.  A flatline has the most range out of all the barrels but has a really steep learning and the accuracy is questionable.  If I had to chose my flatline or may all america I would take my aa almost anyday cause it is a more everyday barrel.

thats what people who've only used the flatline say, cough cough newbie cough cough.  im not saying that its a bad barrel, its one of the best, but there better ones out there.  Just a little advice, dont buy any tippmann barrels except for the flatline. none of them are good.  the barrel depends on your playing style.  there are basically 3 different categories of barrels: Quiet-almost all of the 32 degrees barrels, armson barrels. Accurate-(and best for price) Lapco Bigshot, J&J Ceramic, Dye Ultralight, Smart Parts Freak. Distance-flatline....and theres one other barrel but its not made for tippmanns. those are some choices.  I would go with the Smart Parts All American. It is one of the quietest barrels out there, its also onem of the most accurate barrels outhere.  i think think its your best choice if yur not lookin for sumthin like the flatline.

oh yeah, and they have made two different kinds of All American barrels. the 2001 model and the newer models.  the older ones are one piece, the newer ones are 2 piece. the old one cost $23, the new one cost (including both pieces) $71.  now, you can read as many reviews you want, every single review ive read says that the older model is better than the newer model in accuracy.  The only reason it costs so much less is because it is an older model.  GET IT!

Ok, the flatline as I have heard, istn all its chocked up 2 be.  Unless you lay field ball, try 2 get a whisper, tear drop, or a big shot.  Those r all good, i am geyttin a biggy 4 my A5 soon, and my friend has a 14' whisper, best upgrade he has(on;ly one though) lol
