with a freak kit you can change the barrel bore size by like .1 of an inch. theres different ones for like day, night, humid, rain, etc. that r suppose to be the best for that climate. i think kits are definitely worth it if you have the money and are willing to spend that much on a barrel. the best barrel kits are the freak and the stiffi barrel kits. i wouldnt suggest a j&j because they dont self clean. and after they supposively self-clean your shots start to swerve and you end up having to squeegie your barrel n/e ways. if your going to get a regular barrel i reccomend the lapco bigshot. bout $10 more but it is well worth it.

hope this helps, good  luck!

in my opinion the freak jr isnt as great of a barrel kit. smart parts says it has the same performance as the freak but the freak jr is a completly different barrel with different backs and fronts. the freak jr is also cheaper and has less inserts/different bore sizes. at my proshop you can get like half of the freak kit for like $85 instead of getting the full freak kit and never using some of the inserts.

^ with the freak jr kit you do not get the teardrop front or as many inserts [1-3 as opposed to 8 i think].  Teardrop front is an advantage because of the 40* porting which keeps broken paint out of the porting.  The evil driver has 30* porting and I chopped a ball today in a prostock I was plinking with [not my autococker].  No paint got in the porting.  Its true that you dont really use all the inserts so save yourself some money and buy the JJ edge kit [$75 off ebay, not sure about anywhere else].  you get 4 backs and one front.  I shoot an evil driver on my autococker and they are really good barrels, but no barrel kit.  The JJ ceramic is a great barrel for the money [used on a back-up spyder] and is pretty accurate.  If I were you and can find the edge kit for under $80 I'd go with it.
