Tippmann needs to come out with some smoke gernades like they use in the ary and military. The 1s that last like 5 mins. That would be pimp for Senerio like i play ! Has this alrady been made for Paintball?

Hmmm, lets think here why they DONT.

1.  Smoke = flame = potential forest fire
2.  Inhaling smoke isnt the best thing for you
3.  Do you really want people walking around blind with guns?
4.  Smoke would either be to thin to make a differnce or thick enough for someone to mistake it for a REAL fire, making problems.

They use things LIKE  smoke gernades in scenerio play, but its part of the game (like nerve gas) and players expect it and are safe from it.

You can buy some. I used to have these small ones that weren't even worth using but you could probably find some or make one.

A spark is all thats needed to start a fire.

And think about it, if you were a passerby, and you saw smoke coming out of a forest, what are you going to do?  Chances are you would call the fire department.

P.S - Way to bump a dead thread

There are alot of smoke grenades that will not produce high temps capable of burning your hand. He already said he was going to use it for scenario games. Anyway there are plenty of other suppliers out there who sell smoke grenades you dont need tippmann to begin making them also.

If you read my post you would realize that A.  I did not say it would brun your hand, I said it has the potential of starting a fire and B.  I said items LIKE smoke grenades are used.  Generally they are stationary and are placed in areas where a fire will NOT result.

Unless the smoke was pink or blue.

I too have looked for something bigger than an ammo smoke but haven't found anything.

u could get smoke bombs. the lil balls that u can get at firework stores. but thats prolly dangurous too, cuz u have to have a match to light em. unless u used a lighter, u would just have to watch out for sparks cuz they do burn...trust me...i kno lol and that would start a fire

http://www.shomer-tec.com/site/department.cfm?id=899D0CFD-C9 63-A4A0-035FD218CBADD71F

This site sells both a 40,000 and a 22,000 cubic ft output smoke bombs which are marketed for many things including paintball.

They are not dangerous, the person handeling them may or may not be.

Me and my friends play alot of scenario games and we all make our own stuff so Watson this might be something you might ant to try. This is how we make our smoke grenades:

-3 parts salt peter (potassium nitrate)
-2 parts sugar all measured by weight
-use an old pot and mix.
-heat on high, will turn to Carmel.
-pour in container and embed a fuse
-Light it and run or throw.

You might want to do all of this out side on a fire or a hotplate though because if you do it on the stove inside and it lights it will smoke your house out. I know this from experience anyways Good Luck
