98C is my favorite too , but , the A5 is easier to clean and field strip for maintenance , just not as many options open to you for upgrades . Welcome to the forum and the sport ! Edit : If enos were to see this , He'd say there's nothing wrong with the Pro-Carb , and he'd be right , upgrades are mostly homemade for it tho,, Edited by Shadowminion |

Go with the 98 Custom or the A-5, they are easy to upgrade into exactly what you want.

The 98 Custom is what I used every time I played and I thought it was
okay but it isnt one of my favorites. Oh and my friends and me will
mostly be playing woodsball mostly.

A5. To me, the Pro Carbine is too over priced for the lack of aftermarket upgrades.
The A5 is a great marker. |

A-5 unless you want speedball which the 98 is slightly better at but is still not amazing at.

You and yer friends were using rentals which is very common and theyre always stock but, owning yer own 98c by placing whatever mods and upgrades on it will improve its performance compared to a 98c rental. |

Your going to get a 50/50 split from us between the 98C and the A-5. The Procarbine is a good gun but as said above it's hard to upgrade. You can't go wrong with either so its really up to your preference. Don't buy without shooting them both.

Get the A-5 it's newer and more upgradeable to your preference of paintball. And it's more durable. Also you can make it auto for 120 bucks.

I will stick up fer the Pro/Carbine.
I had a upgraded 98c Befor buying my Carbine and sold it after getting the Carbine. The carbine series guns offer AMAZING out of the box performance and are Built stronger and are even easier to maintain. There are contray to beleife lots you can do to a Carbine like Drops, hoppers, air, barrels, sights, stocks, remotes, Trigger mods, Trigger upgrades, and so on. I find the carbine to be a great comfy gun to use and is STILL my marker of choice for senerios and woodsball. I at one point had mine pulling double duty as a woodsball gun and a speedball gun. It did alright and cept me competive. Its not to say the 98c is a bad gun its just that i prefer the Procarbines feel and reliability. Either way no matter what the choice i think youll be happy with a Tippmann Product. |

I second the ProCarbine, It is a great gun. This gun will never let you down and it is just cool. Like Bear Claw said above with it just the same amount of upgrades, they are just a little hard to find. And someone else said that the only upgrades are homemade, so what that just gives yuo more incentive to brag that you have something in your gun that noone else has. Oh..........yea, I remember why i bought the Pro/Carbine. because of mr. bear claw and everyone else here, he stated the same sort of thing when i asked it and that persueded me. He seems liek a stand up guy and once i bought it it was my best purchase. Oh yea and if you like the feel of a rifle then this will feel good in you hands, i hunt so there fore, it fits well with me PRO/CARBINE ALL THE WAY |

I am going to start going to church again if they have paintball trips. I think the best gun tippmann has is the 98custom. I would pick the procarbine over the 98c if only it was easily upgraded. I would love to make my own modifications on the procarbine, but I just don't have the time. Since I don't have the time, my votes goest to the 98c. I would get the 98c over the A5 any day. I would even get a SL68II(tippmann's pump) over the A5. |

Well it really depends on what you like to play. The pro is excelent at woodsball becasue thats what its made for. The 98c is the perfect all around marker, you can play woodsball with it, speedball, any field. It is also a very good for someone new at paintball. It is also a very simple gun, not to complicated. But then again the pro-carbine is a very very simple gun. Then you have the A-5 which is more complicated and more technology on it. It has the cyclone feed, and newer crap on it. The 98c and the A5 are kinda the same, some will recomend 98 and some, the A5. But all it really comes down to how you play the sport. I would recomend eather. Good luck!
