What grips will fit on the Cyborg? (Source)
Your best bet is to get Matrix Dye Sticky 3's, though MacDev should be making their own grips in the future.

How do I adjust my Gladiator's pressure? (Source)
'03 Gladiator: Turn the screw in to increase pressure, out to decrease pressure.
'04 Gladiator: Turn the screw out to increase pressure, in to decrease pressure.

The eyes on my Cyborg won't work... it never lets me fire (Source)
Generally this is caused by sunlight getting past the eye cover causing the receiver half of the eye to think there is still a ball in place. This can be solved by putting a small o-ring on the back of the eye (available through MacDev) or coating the back of the eyes in either black epoxy or liquid electrical tape to prevent light from getting to the back of the eyes.

What is involved in maintaining the Cyborg? (Source)
Basically, lube the ram with dow 33/55 and rebuild the reg (Gladiator '04) every 10,000 shots. Relubing the ram should take less than 5 minutes and requires no tools.

The detents may be too tight. Unscrew your detents a 1/4 turn each until it works.

Super maintenance guide
1. Bolt Maintance

The bolt is made from a self lubricating plastic. For this reason, you never need to lubcriate it. It should always be used dry. It is recommend that you clean the bolt after every play days.

* To remove the Bolt, gently pull the Pull-pin upwards until you hear a "click".
* The Bolt and the Pull-pin should then slide freely out of the gun
* If you notice scratches along the bolt, it is likely that you have not cleaned it often enough
* When you reinstall the bolt, itīs critical to ensure that the buttom of the Pull-Pin is located correctly in the slot on the Ram inside the gun.

2. Ram Maintance

The ram of your Cyborg does the most work on any part of the gun!
Thats why you have to keep it clean and well lubricated.

Ram maintenance should be done at least every 20.000 cycles

* Before removing your ram make sure that there is no gas in the gun !
* Remove the bolt (as describet above)
* Unscrew the Ram-Cap (counter-clockwise) and remove it from the gun
* Grasp the ram end and pull it out of the Cyborg
* Remove the hammer from the Ram-Housing
* Clean the old grease off the Ram-housing bore with a clean q-tip
* Clean the old grease the Ram-Housing and hammer with a clean lint free cloth
* Re-lubricate the Ram-Housing bore with a q-tip and Dow 33
* Re-lubricate the o-rings of the hammer as well as the hammer shaft with your fingers and Dow 33
* Slide the hammer back into the ram housing
* Re-lubricate the o-rings on the outside of the ram housing

- Now your ram should be ready to be replaced back into your gun

* Slide it back very carefully before securing it in place wit the ram nut
* Take care that the bolt is replaced correctly (as described above)

3. Gladiator 04 Maintance

To keep the Gladiator working well you should clean and lubricate the piston regularly. MacDev recommend to do this every 20.000 shots. We suggest to do this in a shorter interval.

* Degas your cyborg
* Screw your Gladiator 04 out of the ASA
* Place a clean rag on the tabletop and push the piston assembly out from the top
* Seperate the piston from the o-ring retainer and spring washers
* Clean the piston and o-ring retainer of old grease using a clean rag. Do not leave any cotton strands on or between the o-rings. Re-apply Dow 33 to the o-rings.
* Clean the piston bore using a Q-tip to remove all old graese.
* Using a clean Q-tip, apply silicon grease to the piston bore. Do not over apply grease - all you need is a thin film!
* Slide the spring washers back onto the the piston and lubricate the shaft with Dow 33. Now slide the o-ring retainer back onto the shaft.
* Slide the piston etc. back into the Gladiator topworks and screw the the bottom and topworks back together before re-installing the Gladiator onto your Cyborg.

4. Low Pressure Regulator Maintance

You should clean an relubricate the LPR every 20.000 Shots

* degas your Cyborg
* Unscrew the LPR adjuster cap counter-clockwise
* remove the spring under the adjuster
* remove the LPR Pisten - use a pair auf needle nose pliers
* clean and relubricate the piston bore
* clean and relubricate the piston
* put the piston back in the LPR
* put the spring back onto the pisten
* screw the adjustercap clockwise in the LPR

now you have to chrono your Cyborg

5. CyberSense (ACE) Maintance

* unscrew counter-clock wise the Eyecovers
* remove the eyecover
* get the LED out of the body - watch the cables(!)
* clean the LED
* put the LED back into the body - watch the oring and make sure that the LED fits
* move the eyecover onto the body - watch the cables (!)
* screw clockwise the eyecover-screw

Same on both side of your cyborg

A good review
I got to watch a lot of Cyborgs in action at the Hamilton 2004 VComp tournament, and was impressed enough to ask for a bit of a demonstration and a quick trial run at the end of the competition. Diane from MacDev, and MacDev Factory Team Captain "Blobby" were more than happy to arrange a couple of these markers for me to have a look at, and here's a bit of a first impression.

During play, the players running the Cyborgs were firing them so fast that I was almost positive that they were using burst mode, trigger bouncing, or they were fully automatic, all of which are disallowed in
New Zealand
. There were apparently players on a number of teams who felt the same way, so the markers were checked out to ensure that they were legal, and sure enough, they were.

Quite simply, you get a phenomenal rate of fire out of the Cyborg. MacDev are notably, and quite rightly, proud of this marker, which made it's first out-of-Aussie debut at the
Hamilton
event.

It's nothing special to look at. Don't get me wrong, it's not an ugly marker, but it doesn't stand out when compared to some of the flashier streamlined markers... but when you're getting the kind of performance I experienced with the thing, that's a secondary concern.

It's light, and with the rig shown in the image displayed, it is well balanced and a pleasure to hold.

Firing it gave absolutely no kick that I could detect other than what I created by pulling the trigger. The trigger was so light that I'd squeezed off a shot without even realising. While I was not able to match the rate of fire that the marker's owner was able to attain, I was able to comfortably out-shoot what I would have been getting with my Shocker without even trying.

The other thing I liked about the marker was the fact that it wouldn't dry fire. If you were out of paint, then pulling the trigger did nothing. You could turn this off, but I thought it was a nice touch, even if it wasn't the be-all and end-all of paintball marker abilities.

As for accuracy... I felt I could almost drill holes with this marker. At a range that would get me a 3ft grouping with my usual tournament marker, I was landing paint within 1ft of where I was aiming. On-field of course this would give you a much better chance of hitting an exposed elbow or foot.

In short: I love this paintball marker. I will buy one at the soonest opportunity.

Pictures

None of this stuff was written by me. I got these things for google, cyborg site, friends, and macdev site. I just put it togethor. The cyborg is beginning to get more popular so I thought i'd post some things they may want to know.

Thinking strongly about it. Its either the cyborg or a shocker.  I won't be able to get it for a while so I have a long time to make a decision. And if anyone has anything that they would like to add I would be grateful if you added it.

Definitly go with the Cyborg. Its just as fast and light as a Shocker but the Borg is alot more reliable. You can't get over the facts about the cheap quality and unreliablity of Smart Parts guns. Smart Parts cuts so many corners in gun production that it makes thier guns horrible. The aluminum they use is that of swiss cheese and recycled pepsi cans. Thier solniods are all ghetto rigged and the problems with thier guns are never ending. I just played with my team who all use Smart Parts guns. Eriks maxflo gauge blew on him almost killing someone when it flew threw the air. John and Hops Dynasty shockers both took a poop on them over and over and over again. It got to the point that they were unable to use thier Shockers. Lastly Seans Impulse also took a poop on him and he was unable to finsh the day with his Impy. All together 4 out of 5 guns pooped out at that practice and they were all Smart Parts guns. That says something about the cheap quality and unreliablity of Smart Parts guns. The old Timmys are just as fast just as light and just as small as Shocker. O yea not to brag but my Timmy was the fifth gun;the one not to take a poop during the practice.
