Its your choice. A remote would lighten up your gun with that 20 oz.
tank a lot. But you might want to get a barrel first. Yeah, get a
barrel and a remote.

Remotes are a waste of money. All you need is a marker and a good
barrel (no flatlines). I went nuts on all the accessories for my a-5,
and ended up selling it all because it is pointless. Use what you got. Take advice from me, the idiot who got suckered into buying all the flashy crap.

Don't get a remote line unless you plan on getting a stock. It'll remove the only thing you have to brace the gun from recoil and your shaky hands.

Why do you (LordJovian) keep saying "if you get a remote, you need to get a stock" either one is not really needed, Ive seen people wit a marker that had a stock and no remote and a marker wit the remote and no stock...the setup I had when I 1st got into woodsball was my 98c and remote wit no stock and it worked fer me...like I said, either one is not really needed...its mainly based on preference.

It's a pain to use a remote without a stock, and vice versa. With just a remote, you have nothing to steady your gun with. Yes it is humanly possible to hold the gun and shoot it without bracing it, but everyone (including myself) I've seen try this usually end up throwing their remote in a dark place somewhere in the garage or basement. Many also complain that remotes are crap because they can't shoot for crap with it. On the flipside, I've seen people with stocks trying to haul their tanks around too. The gun is crazy heavy, and it slows them down significantly. They can't pull the gun up fast enough to return fire, and the ones I know of complain about making the mistake of getting a stock because it makes the gun more difficult. I don't demand they get it, I try to always say "I strongly reccomend" or something similar. Consider it more good advice- like telling someone what kind of barrel is good AND mentioning the paint bore to use . |

I reccomend the freak barrel as it allows you to place 8 seperate bore
inserts to match the paint you are able to buy, wether it be cheap
paint shaped like eggs (brass eagle, ZAP), or great paint that is
flawless (evil, marbs, most rps products). Therefor reducing the
headaches on the field.
Paintball is supposed to be fun, not complicated. Wether or not you waste your money on purchasing a remote is entirely up to you. My "strong reccomendation" would be to buy a good barrel and maybe a HPA tank in the future, the rest is merely cosmetic and barely functional as I stated in my thread above. I bought all the toys for my A-5 (ACI HP COILED DELUX PRO remote, SAW stock, flatline, BT-16, BT sight rail) and ended up selling it all with HUGE buyers remorse. It's all a waste of money and complicates an extremely fun game. Ever try to clean a Flatline in the heat of battle? |
