FINAL QUESTION FOR BARRELS

I understand but if you put all the different classes together like for instance the flatline is basically by itself and the armson barrel pretty much the same but all other barrels are honed out, what im trying to say is that the different calsses of barrels dont really make a difference in what brand you get as long as it is in the same class and is in your price range then why argue taht one is better then the other?

I can kind of see what your trying to say. In general, yes, they are pretty much all the same, with minor differences from what they appear. But in reality, one thing that is a huge separation in different barrels is the material of which they are made. Even if you have a perfect ball to barrel match and perfectly shaped balls, your shots can still be lousy if the barrel is made of a bad material. A barrel made of a material with a high amount of friction (caused by a made compostion of material) will cause lousy shots. I believe ceramics are good because of their low mu (coefficient of friction), as opposed to, say that junky metal thing that came stock on a c98.

I've actually worked out some of the physics of a paintball in flight, but I didn't factor in stuff like friction or wind, yet. Basically, it shows that most smoothbore barrels have the same range, +/- maybe 10 feet or so. The exceptions of course are Flatlines, rifled barrels, etc.

Well, I have to disagree.   1. there is the Flatline. 2. There are rifled barrels 3. there are two piece barrel, three piece barrels, and barrel kits. 4. then like the others have stated, building material, aluminum, ceramic, titanium, stanless steel, and carbon fiber, not to mention porting.

And as everyone knows, bore to paint match is everything. You do make a valid point thou. Back in the day we use to hone the stock barrels, and it help performance out a good bit. But nobody does that now days.

And yes i do agree that if the barrel is in your price range, it is almost guarenteed to be better than the stock barrel, especially if the stock barrel is Tippmann's.
