To hurl a grenade 150 feet all on spring power, you would need one heck of a heavy duty spring. The rap4 that evil_fingers showed us has a range of 30 feet.

It would be like the British PIAT I believe.  It was a spring powered anti-tank gun.  It would be a good idea but damn hard to reload.  The PIAT had a spring in it with like 150 pounds of preesure or soemthing.  You had to be really strong to operate it.  This idea is crap.  It'd be way too hard to make and operate.
I wouldn't venture out there fellas. This sniper's got talent.

Yes, the PIAT was spring powered. It also weighed 32 lbs. And it technically had no barrel, the projectile was loaded similar to the rifle grenade of an M1 Garand. This would be bad for paintball, considering the projectile is lighter than a PIAT explosive round, making it more easily thrown off course by exterior forces like wind.

I heard about your idea>>>>>>>>>>Its great!

Although they have already done it, we could make a design for a new one.

I was thinking that we could make something like an RPG, only for paint.

Or we could design an attatchment that would go onto the gun like an M203 or something.........

Paint_master, you mean like an M203? I've seen them around, they cost like $200-$300 though.

This spring powerd thing is no good, it whould take way to much time to re-coil the spring to fire another round, I'd rather just make an air cannon, besides what whould this granade launcher throw, tippmann paint grandes, there not very reliable.

http://www.rustyspaintballgear.com/rs/catalog/bytype.asp?typ e=Launchers

The TP203 mounts to almost any gun. They got some other ones, if you like anti-tank stuff, check out some of the M72 models. All of these shoot a 52mm round that you can buy at that website or buy the plans and parts to make your own. From what I understand, they're more like shotgun shells.

they have made a air powerd grenade launcher for the spyder and A-5 that uses your air from your tank i do recogmend the low pressure system it has a range of 50-75 yards and cost around 299.99

here is what it says

Scepter Grenade Launcher

The Scepter Grenade Launcher is a new, patented 40mm launcher that not only fires the Scepter 40mm (2-oz) fragmentation paintball grenade, but grapeshot loads as well.

Features:

  • Made from the highest grade aircraft aluminum
  • Uses the marker's air source
  • Fires at 145 FPS
  • Range of 50-70 yards
  • Frag grenade has a "kill zone" of 15'
  • Safe to fire at any range, as long as everyone is wearing normal paintball safety gear
  • Will NOT dislodge paintball goggles, even at point-blank range!

This launcher can be ordered to fit on Spyder and Tippmann A-5
