The only reason why you heard that is because the Rocket Cock 2's handle is made out of aluminum compared to the 1st which was composite plastic. |

The only real function is to keep paint/dirt out of your cocking slot area and interfering with the action of your rear bolt.

Only disadvantage to it is it sticks out on side of gun most people aim down, so it will make sighting more difficult.
