ok i thought of this when screwing wood together. you take a squeegee the (stick kind) grind down the one end so it will fit into an electric screw driver then tighten in tighly so there is no wobble. rub polishing cream all down the part of the squeegee that goes in the barrell then stick it your favorite barrell and turn it on the high velcoity spinning motion polishes to a shine i did this to my stock a-5 barrell and shoots farther and straighter than my 8' bigshot polishing reduces the friction beteween the ball and the barrell .

The stock a-5 barrel is an absoultly brutle barrel i find it hard to belive polishing it would do anything

try it out your self but when i polished the big shot it was even better it doesn't make it perfect since no paintball will ever shoot stragiht as a bullet but just better

sounds like an ok idea maybe ill try it on my stock 98 barrel but never on my J&J ceramic.would you be able to use something besides a squeegee like steel wool on a stick with polishing stuff?i do have a drill and some polishing bits but that wouldnt fit down a barrel

try it out on the ceramic it would be great im a hunter and i saw that a 20 guage barrell is rughly around the size of a (not sure) so u can buy the squeegee for the shot barrell which is steel but probaly wouldn't work sorrry i just checked 20g is to small go for a 16 guage size wool cleaner that would work in the barrell
tell me wat u think of the polishing idea im gonna start doing this at my field 3 bucks for a polished barrell no copy me lol Edited by surfnbrad |

i did the same thing to my pro-carbine stock barrel. it shoots just as good as a 16 inch j & j ceramic barrel. i recommend doing this with any stock paintball gun barrel. |

how could i do it without using a squegge? what about one of those fluffy cleaning rod things? i have one for a muzzle loader that fits perfectly. an should i just use mothers aluminum polish?

yeah i got 12 and 20 gauge cleaning rods will a 12 be ok? and then just some aluminum polishing stuff. but i wouldnt do it on my J&J ceramic thats the only good barrel i got.sorry about the bump.

^^^the 12 guage may be a little big if u are using steel but if u use somthing soft like a stick squeegee then it would work good ^^^

So I tried this last night.
I just took a fiberglass rod I had laying around, and wrapped some cotton fabric around it until it fit tight in the barrell and then trimmed it off. I left it long enough on the rod so I could slide the barrell back and forth a couple inches while I was polishing. I used Soft Scrub for the initial polish because I didn't want it to be too abrasive, and then I used some silver polish for the final polish. I got a NICE mirror finish on the inside of my stock barrell now! I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, and don't have any other barrell to compare it to, but the stock barrell now looks just like the inside of the after-market barrells I've looked at. |
