Anyone like the Harry Potter books?  I think they are pretty good.  I'm reading the fourth one right now.

I really liked the Harry Potter series, I know some people who just plain don't like them, and I know some people who are like "zZOZZMmgmgmGMGMG1!1!1111  WizzZzRrrdDddsS11zZ1!1111   3eeVvvvIIIIILlll!!11"

The "New" star wars stuff isnt new by any means.

The series consists of three trilogies, Lucas made the films 3-6, intending to stop.  He decided to make 1-3 to let people see how it began I think.

The last three he might make, he might not.

You're missing out, Hades - the new Star Wars movies have what you missed in the first three:  Jedis that actually kick ass, instead of always trying to improve.

Actually he wrote 1-9 at the same time. He filmed 4-6 first because it would make it that much more interesting. After episode 3 there planning to start episode 7. The last 3 movies are going to deal with Han Solo and Princess Leias kids and Luke restoring the Jedi........Its ok, im a nerd I know these things

J.K. Rowling(sp?) is a very hard working author that knows alot about ancient witchcraft. This is what makes her books both dangerouse and educational to Christians.

I am a Christian, but I would probably let my kids read the books. The books are good, and represent a large amount of good principals. The books are fantasy and should be understood as thus.

I still read the LOTR trilogy every year. They are soooo much better than the movies.

I havent picked up any of the books, they're just not my style. What irks the heck out of me are the people that treat is like its some kind of gospel or real life story.

Example:

I was in RA training over the summer, and we were going over diversity training. The instructor told us to compile a list of as many hateful, derrogatory and non-inclusive terms as we could. Our list was hair-raising we called out every racial slur and every ethnic insult you could think of. The worst of the worst. When we were winding down, this girl calls out "Muggle"

The room got quiet and most of us stared at her in awe. "Muggle is a non-inclusive term" she said. And she was SERIOUS.

I wanted to beat her with a chair....but it WAS sensitivity training.

?

^^That is the problem with all fantasy though. People get too caught up in what is not real.

Take sports for instance...(I don't think I need to define that)
