sniping a wonderful thing.  Let me hear some of your best snipping stores.  The technices that would suprise the novice but even get the pros.  I have some stories some funny and some not.  But first lets hear what all of you have to say.

Sniper story: My team and I, went against a large amount of kids,  the last left standing was a sniper. so we searched the many acres, and found him, then sneaked up behind him and fired a few shots. He didnt get one round off. Theres a sniper story for you. Anyways, be prepared to be flamed for making a post about snipers since there are none. I will now step away from this flame fest...

Lets see, saw this kid, with a mis-matched ghillie suit, put himself into a poor position, was blind to flanks and rear, and I walked up behind him, placed the muzzle of my marker on his head, and stated "bang your out".....the look in his eyes was priceless......

Well I dont own a snipping store, but I can tell you once when I had a bit too much nasal hair and tried to snip it. I had a flu so it was all stuck together.  Tried to snip it and it got all tangled.  Hurt like heck.

EDIT : Sorry, no real tips on snipping.  Washing out the area prior to cutting helps I guess, maybe a little lemon juice.  You could just burn off the hair.

Now if we are talking about snipping plants, thats a whole 'nother story.

^ You are awesome.

A sniper tale: I play with a kid who had a 98C w/ a stock, a scope, and a STOCK BARREL. He always talked about how good of a sniper he was and how he could one shot kill people from 500 feet away. Needless to say he got noobed, but he will need to be noobed again before he gets the message, I think.

Hmmmmm, for someone who has a 12 post count, you would think he would have known not to be asking such a question to avoid any flaming and for the spelling error....its not "snipping" its "sniping"....snipping is to slightly cut an object, like a piece of paper or your nose hairs as commented by Darur

Now if we are talking about snipping plants, thats a whole 'nother story.

I laughed so hard I actually had to get up and walk around for a minute.  I award Darur three happy-clappies

Now the individual who started this post asked for a sniper story, so I will include one.  I should note at this point that while I believe paintball snipers do exist, but are just very rare, what I did in the story below does not qualify.  I wasn't a sniper in this situation because I didn't care if they figured out where I was and I had decided to hold my position as opposed to departing before receiving return fire.

The field I play at has a creek that can be crossed on a rough bridge of limbs and rocks.  It is possible to go around, but it takes a little longer.  We had a bunch of new folks at the field and I had warned them that some jerk was always staking out the bridge and shooting newbies, so when my team went out to play defense, I set up on the bridge to see if they had listened to me.  Sure enough, about 10 minutes into the game a group of people (the same ones I had warned) came to the bridge.  I let the first one get to the middle of the bridge before I put a single shot into his right side.  Someone screamed "there's a sniper guarding the bridge" and the remaining half dozen members of the other team scrambled for cover.  I probably could have shot the one that fell in the creek, but I was struggling to hard not to laugh out loud.

At this point, they should have left someone to guard their side of the bridge and found another way around, but instead they became very persistent.  After about 5 minutes someone said "I don't see anything, I think he left.  You go on across, and we'll cover you."  I let this one get almost all the way across before I broke a single paintball on the top of his head.  The remainder of his group all scrambled for better cover; which was confusing since he was the only one who had come out of cover.

In about another 5 minutes I heard the same voice again.  He said, "We're going to light up the other side, stay low and you'll get across."  His team then proceeded to open up blindly on my side of the creek, shredding the foliage with several hundred round, none of which came anywhere near my position.  This guy practically crawled across the bridge.  He stayed so low that he soaked the front of his shirt, and I didn't have a shot until he got to my side.  As he crawled up the bank I fired twice, hitting him in the upper back sides of both his left and right hip.

Another 5 minutes or so passed, then I heard the same voice again.  It was practically the same words as the first time, "You go across and we'll cover you."  The reply was quick in coming, was very loud and was laced with profanity:  "@#^* that, how about you cross and we cover you, @#^%%&*!"  There was some further "discussion" on the other side of the creek, then the owner of the first voice came into view.  Funny thing was, while he was very willing to send others across the bridge, he didn't seem that anxious to cross it himself.  He moved to cover behind a small bush about 6 feet from the end of the bridge, but wouldn't proceed any further.  He just kept leaning out from behind the bush and scanning my side of the creek.  I decided to hold my fire until some poor sucker got the idea I had left and tried to cross the bridge, but then voice-man leaned out from behind his bush and said  "See, it's safe to cross now, go ahead, I'll cover you."  At this point I couldn't help myself and shot him twice in the goggles.  I knew I would have to move enough to expose my position, but it was worth it.  Of course, the remaining players on the other side of the creek opened up on my cover.  I just tucked in and watched the bridge.  With the way the creek ran and the cover I was using, the only place they had a prayer of shooting me from was the bridge.

Several hundred rounds later, one of the guys on the other team finally moved to a different position on their side of the creek that gave him a visual on me and started shooting at me.  He quickly realized he couldn't hit me; the distance was to far for a straight shot and the balls he tried to lob in broke on my top cover.  Then he made the mistake of standing in the open.  I guess he assumed that since he couldn't hit me, I wouldn't be able to hit him.  I aimed center of mass and tripple-tapped the trigger of my Flatline-equipped Model 98.  I was almost immediately rewarded by the appearance of bright yellow splotches on his chest and left knee.

For about the next 10 minutes I hid behind my cover and taunted the guys on the other side of the creek to keep them shooting.  I didn't take any more shots because no one else tried to cross the bridge.  Finally, 3 or 4 guys from my team (which had successfully defended the flag from the other half of the opposing team) came through on a sweep and eliminated my opponents.

Edited Note:  For those who are curious, the taunts I used were stolen from the French castle defenders in the movie Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

Me too.  Except in this case these guys made it way to easy.  I would have felt guilty about ambushing them at the bridge if I hadn't specifically warned them about it right before the game started.

Thats great Mack.

While I really dont have a stance on the concept of snipers in paintball I have a story that might fit in here.

Me and my buddy were playing woodsball one time with a TON of other people, had to be about 15-20 per team and about half were "noobs". We were playing take the base (some variation that they had made up) this is were the attacking team only has to touch the wall of the defenders base (which was a burnt out shell of an old house). When we started the game most of the defenders (the team me and my buddy were picked for) simply got into the old basement of the house so they could shoot from the windows and have some good cover. A group of people went to the back where what remains of a stone patio resides to shoot over the remains of the house and protect the flank. Me and my buddy rushed about 50 yards ahead of the house and tucked into a hole from a fallen tree where the roots provided cover. Just 30 yards ahead of us was a small creek with a 4-5ft embankment. There were 2 places to cross the creek and not get wet, one was directly in front of us and the other was about 50 yards down from us. Now it was kinda chilly that day and if you got wet it was cold, so we knew that most of the folks were gonna try to cross the dry bridges. From the house you didnt have much of a shot on this fatal funnel because of the foliage and distance but me and my buddy sure as heck did.
We waited until the attackers started crossing the creek. I told my friend to start picking them off the bridge, I switch my ebolt to full auto and started spraying the guys on the bank waiting their turn to cross. These guys were completely unexpecting this and it took some of them a full minute to react. They all got in cover and then tried to fire blindly across the bank, we just waited a few minutes and soon enough 2 more started across. We just sat there and picked them off until one guy with an a5 rt saw my bud and peppered him. Now they knew my position and were throwing fire as others moved across the bridge, but their lobs were only hitting the top of the roots and I continued to pick them off. Finally a couple of brave souls crossed the creek and tried to flank me but I watched them move up the embankment shy of my position. I put one out with a shot to the googles and the other made it to cover. I then had to keep him bunkered and still pick off as many people crossing the bridges as possible. I knew my time was short but I kept at it. People were trying to bunker me while others stupidly rushed straight by me trying to sprint to the fortress. I simply shot them from the back or they were taken out by the defenders.
Somehow no one had gotten me by now (don't know how because I was shooting people running by and there were atleast three people trying to bunker me and I obviously couldnt shoot them all at once) this is when I ran out of air, but the ebolt doesnt "purge" like other markers it just stops shooting, so I pulled my pistol to stop people rushing past me or rushing me. I got 2 more before someone realized that I wasnt using my tippmann anymore and informed everyone by yelling "Hey yall, the guy with the machine gun is out we can win if we all go at once!" At which point about 6 people rushed past me and painted me good. Thats ok I still had the bragging rights of the day.

I shoot long range as well. Recreational shooting at increased distances. Just because I can hit something thats far away doesnt make me or you a sniper. There's a little more to it than that.
