Hey Guys, I heard that everyonce in awhile you have to have the Flatline Sanded or do something to the inside... Does anyone know how long you should wait untill you have that done? I'm just wondering because I've had my A5 with the flatline for a year now... Thanks -Joe |

Something like 100,000 balls or so...
I wouldn't worry about--and It's bead blasted so the surface stays rough, and so the paintballs don't slip. --Jeff |

Does the Rough texture on the inside of the barrel wear off? Does that effect the range/accuracy? |

yes, every 200,000 shots, it can be sent back to tippmann for re-glass blasting. not sand or bead blasting, but glass. thats why the inside is crystaly and white. i think they redo it for free if you show them the reciept or some proof.

^ not exactly. they all diferate sand blasting is a fast way to quickly wear, erode or weather a surface. the sand is blasted againt the surface quickly wearing it away. it sands the surface if you will, and prepares it for painting or any other applications, or just for a worn look. it does not stick. bead blasting is blasting or spraying a surface with a mixture of metal oxides, glass beads, metal shot, assorted plastics, and others materials giving it a semi-glossy, evenly rough looking finish. but glass blasting is with fine grained glass which gives it a fine scratched finish, or preparation. tippmann uses this accept they have techniques to make it stick the inside of the flatline barrel. |
