 Hey!

My name is Laura and I am looking to invest about $150 in a good, sturdy, one that is going to last me forever. I am a pretty strong girl but I dont want something that is going to be hard for me. I also need all the gear and am willing to pay a good amount for it too. I just need some advise on what would be good for me, and best for my money. I dont want nothing too flashy, I'm going econo here lol. Thank you!

yup

For other stuff, look into V-force and JT as far as masks. Gloves are useful too, I think DYE makes decent ones.

make sure the masks are thermal.

VForce masks are excellent stuff. The 98 Custom is exactly the marker you're looking for with your budget and experience, and it will serve you for years, even up into higher levels of the game should you go that way.

Welcome to the Forum! Enjoy your stay.

YWSM is right. The 98 is the perfect gun. Play with it first and get a feel for it and what you would like to change about it and then come back and ask about upgrades and we will give suggestions on what to buy for it.

Don't forget to get upper body protection; it is as important for females as cups are for males.  Our local field owner won't allow any females to play on the field without it.  He found an article someplace that linked bruising with an increased risk of breast cancer.

For your first aftermarket investment for your marker I suggest a 12" J&J ceramic barrel.  Price/feature wise it is the best barrel out there.

Any other upgrades should come later.  Play a while and figure out what you want/need before you spend your money.

www.countypaintball.com

County can hook you up with a REALLY good 98c Starter pack for Cheap.

  • 98 Custom* <$139>
  • 12oz Chrom-Moly Tank <$12>
  • Proto Switch EL Mask  <$26>
Total: $177
BYOP**: $175.23
RC22(-$10 anything over $100): $165.23

And if you have around $50 left over, I Reccomend Buying a Electro-loader(12volt Revolution<$46> is my Reccomendations), or a Good barrel.

12" SmartParts Progressive; is a awsome barrel for the price<$31>.

*: A Gravity Hopper is Included.

**: What is BYOP?

'Build Your Own Package'

We all know that paintball players love to hear BYOP, meaning, "Bring Your Own Paint". However, County introduces a new reason to love those four letters. It stands for "Build Your Own Package". As far as I know, CountyPaintball.com is the first and only site to offer this.

How many times have you seen a package deal somewhere and thought, "If only it came with a better mask, or a different sized tank"? Now, it's totally up to you! We offer TRUE customization of packages. You select any gun, any mask, and at least one more item, and you will automatically receive a package discount.

What makes it even better, is that the discount is based on a percentage of your total order amount. The more you buy, the bigger discount you get. To get the discount, just satisfy the package criteria: 1 gun, 1 mask and 1 other item. The discount will show up when you click on "VIEW Your CART". The more you add to your cart, the more the discount grows.

If you're looking for a package deal, look no further! CountyPaintball.com has it.

First of all, Welcome to the best sport in the world! Its always good to see new people start to play.

98 custom is the gun for you, as for the other stuff here is my opinion on the best and cheapest;

Mask- Proto Switch, its around 30 dollars and is very good and extremely easy to change and clean lenses.

Pack for carrying paintballs- anything that’s not 32 degrees, there stuff falls apart, but Java is good, they guarantee that there stuff wont come apart.

Paintballs- Definatly Nelson.

New Barrel- J&J ceramic, if a ball breaks in the barrel, you just fire two shots and its clean, plus its pretty accurate.

The 98 custom is your best bet it would be perfect for what your looking for. The only gear you need is a mask and that really it. gloves usually are nice to have to. Just wear a sweatshirt and a jacket or somethin.

sorry, but yes i would agree, the 98 custom is the perfect gun for starters that need to get to know the sport and how things work. You dont need a giant tank so i'd say a 12 oz co2 tank. As for a mask, the vforce masks are very nice for the price, i myslef own one and i am satisfied. Other than that there is nothing you need, but i would recomend a j&j ceramic as said above, they are extremely nice barrels for the price.

I would suggest the 98 Custom with a moderate tank: 12 oz should be about right. Don't worry about barrels or other upgrades for a while. A mask really depends on the person. I have heard good things about V-Force, but I like my Flex 7. If possible, try several on to see which you like. I would agree with Mack and strongly recommend a chest protector. I wouldn't buy any gear bags or pod packs yet.

I would recommend a V-Force above all other masks. Nothing comes close to its vision or comfort.

The shield is a reletively cheap V-Force you can buy ($35-40 if i remember correctly). Its very comfy, comes with an antifog lense and its got great vision.

V-force are great, i go the shield and i love it.

The 98c is the right gun for u. It will last forever and never give u problems(unless u do something really dumb like remove the internals)

instead of the 12oz tank, i wood get the 20 oz tank. you will get more shots and its not that much  heavier then the 12 oz tank.

Good luck and have a great time.

Also with the 98c, there are plenty of homemade upgrades that will save you some green(always a great thing)
