In my experience, most people spend more time and money on upgrading their guns then just  going out and practicing. no matter how much money you put into a gun its not gonna mean a thing if you cant even shoot it.

Im not saying dont put any money into your gun. but thing like the flatline and e-grips are unnecessary.

Yeah man, I totally agree (to an extent). I know how people spend on their guns, and then suck with them.
I'm totally sold out for christ!!!

hey guys lets not get crazy hes got a point. ya gotta love it when the rich kid comes to the field with a gun worth more than some of our cars and doesnt hit a single thing. Or the kid with the 98 that looks like a M4 and calls himself a sniper and sits in the back of the field the whole game scared to get shot after he spent 400 bucks upgrading his 150 dollar gun

that's not even the point he failed to make. he just hates it when people spend money to upgrade their markers.

oh well. i guess we're all in the doghouse for wasting our lives away spending every penny of our wealth on our guns..

haha now I figured out why he made this. he's jealous of people who get off their asses to earn money and can upgrade their crap. skill has part to do with winning but equally skilled people.. one with a 98c and the other with a Timmy.... guess who's gonna come out better.

get a job and quit trying to rag on us for your being poor.

why did you just turn this into a personal attack? If I had no job or money then how the hell would I play paintball at all? And how would I have Internet access?

Your missing the entire point of the post. the point is that all the upgrades in the world dont mean anything if you dont know how to play. I have a 98c with a 14" barrel and thats all the money im putting into it. paintballs and co2 cost enough as it is.

guy he did not say dont upgrade you gun. Notice the part "spending more money then practicing" and "spendign money on a gun isnt gonna make a difference if you cant shoot" not exact but he does mention these things. i have to say its true to an extent. if you are good at the sport by all mean you have the right to brag abotu your skills and you gun. if you have no clue whats going on. have fun bragging about you gun but at least be truthful to yourself and those around you th at you are a newb. the will find out anyway. actually i think that type of behavior fall under noob not newb. newb at least know they are newbs

I don't see anything wrong with what he said.

Except that last sentence. People get a flatline to shoot further, an E-grip to shoot faster.

This reminds me of a conversation i had with a friend today. I am getting to go paintballing and am trying to get people to go. So i ask my friend who should go, and then we start talking to the preppy prople that we used to play with.
Well theres this guy that buys a 98C so he can paintball. It being his first time he realy sucks. On the way home (we were walking) he turns to one of my friends and says "man my gun realy sucks. I was hit like 20 timees and didnt hit any one" So next week we all show up and he has a 16" barrel and a cyclone hopper(? I forget what there called) Then he does a little better (becouse of the extra range) SO on the way home he is like "dude i did so much better this time." then i got sick and couldnt go for 3 or 4 weeks. The next week i went he had a flatline, responce trigger, double trigger, and he did alot of work on his co2 tank and connection.
Then im like o well and play against him and took about 10-15 balls to the chest becouse he would just enpty his hopper untill he hit something.

(This was about a year and a half ago) I was so mad i packed up my stock 98C and stopped playing untill last week. O ya i also havnt talked to the rich bastard sence.

He's got a point. While I'm all for perofrmance upgrades that complement your playing style and actual skill, buying a high priced marker, or dumping tons of money into ROF upgrades and relying on accuracy through volume of fire is jsut dumb. I've always maintainced that you should learn to shoot accurately, and then when you can do that, start improving your marker. My marker improvements have ALL been oriented towards accuracy- flatline barrel, Palmer's regulator, and a stock. The stock lets me shoulder it for stability, and the flatline with the regulated air ensure consistent, long range accuracy. I don't plan to get a doulbe trigger, and ebolt, response trigger, or anything of the sort unless I should happen to find a ridiculously good price on an RT. I know I don't have to rip 17bps, because I can do the job with just a couple.

Here's a story. On my first day paintballing out at a farm with a friend and some guys he knew, I ended up in a one on one against one of the hotshots from a local team, sponsored, the usual thing. There he is in his bright yellow jersey with a marker that can rip 20bps, and I've got a stock 98c, and am wearing military camo. We're on a speedball field, and I'm intimidated as hell. Now, he's used to laying down lanes of fire and slowly advancing, but I broke the right flank right of the start, got halfway up the field, caught him by surprise, and got him inside my first three shots when he tried to bunker me, despite him laying down a thick stream of fire- all because I'd taken to time to learn how the marker shot earlier in the day, and because I have a antive shooting ability. The look on his face was pretty priceless too.

Moral of the story, learn to shoot the marker you've got, and then improve it to add on to your existing skill- don't get atricked out marker and hope your ability will catch up, because you'll never stop relying on the crutch of a high ROF.

I know what he meant. I was just being a smartass as usual.

When I say I have 7 guns, I am a collector of the rare and unusual.

I have a tourney setup, with backup.
Milsim set-up.
Stock Class setup.
Sidearm.

As well as a good old classic SMG-60.
