I've only have had my A5 for 4 months. I've played quite a bit with it already. My first couple times out I got the front of my hopper painted three times. That is one crappy design for the stock hopper... it has like a three inch round flat spot right on the nose. So I put a ricohet hopper on it now... better? Yes! But now I'm getting tagged right below the hopper more than anywhere else. It is like the hopper, cyclone, and marker frame create this paintball catcher's mit... and it is a pain to clean out all the nooks and crannies... I suppose I could come with some sort shroud for that area. Any suggestions? (of the non wise a$$ variety please)

Wrap cloth around it or stop leaving your hopper out in the open. If you play woodsball you could consider getting the 30 rnd. cyclone lid at OPSGEAR.

Tape some of that extra-poofy foam stuff onto the front. Never know, it may actually work!

Sorry Frozen. No tape will touch my marker... any mod that requires tape ain't happenin'... but foam might be part of the fix...

Don't blame the gun that you're hit!

I'm the type of person that doesn't like the thought of putting tape on his gun, but in all honestly, a tiny strip of electrical tape can mean a huge difference!
On my M98C, I bought an aftermarket aluminum foregrip. It's a nice grip, but it wobbled when I installed it...it didn't feel like a quality grip because of this. I took out the grip, put a inch-long strip of electrical tape on it, and it is as snug as possible! Feels like a whole new grip, and it didn't cost me anything but a one-inch stip of electrical tape. I really can't think of anything to fit your needs other than making your own custom shroud. Honestly, I've had my A5 for well over a year and I very rarely get shot in the spot you are talking about...it may kinda suck for you now, but I'm sure the more you play with the gun and familiarize yourself with it the better you will become at snap-shoting with it and keeping a low-profile with that extra bulk. The good news is that in a few more months I don't think this will be a problem for you. |

I can respect tape, as long as it is hidden. I picture the kids idea being duct tape and packing peanuts...

what you can do is shoot right handed out of the left side of a bunker,
or shoot left handed out of the left side of the bunker, which ever
handed you are. this allows the hopper to hide behind the bunker, and
it also lowers your profile a lot.

^That would work, but I think just learning to snapshoot better would be more effective...they can't hit what's not there.

^That's true also....in that case the Cyclone becomes a huge advantage rather than a slight hinderance.
So , learn to snap better, and practice shooting lefty. |

I agree. Just outmaneuver the other players so you don't get shot Plus, the hopper's not THAT much bigger than standard hoppers. Your body is a much bigger target |

do u guys think putting a layer of foam would actual stop balls from
breaking. i think i will try it just for the fun of it. think it would
be aloud on the field wat if i made a suit to that would be awsome no
balls being able to break on u

dude. usually, your gun should be in front of your face. the best players always have their gun in front of their face. if you do in fact play like that, it's the hopper that got hit instead of your face, so be glad for it. use the gun as a shield for your head, lol. if you don't play like that, just take some time to get used to the gun. it's really not a big target once you get used to it. |
