So I get home from my nice long 2 weeks of spring break, travelling about, turn on the computer, reset my iPod to use it on mac, get all set up, and bam, nothing....

I am using OS X 10.2.8 so I have to use firewire, not usb 2.0....fine

I plug it in with firewire, and it starts charging...ok, so the cord works, power's getting through...why no itunes or anything, I already installed everything. I check it with usb 2.0 and yep, pops up on the desktop, but I cant do that, not the right version of OSX. I search through the pages of the manual/ support on the apple site, downloading what they suggest, restarting, still nothing. It shows up with usb 2.0, but still not with firewire.... I am seriously going insane, this is brand new, and I'd like to use it to rock out tommorow...but noooooooooooooooooo.

I'm calling tommorow, I already tried today, but no answer, as they are closed at this late hour.

my fingers are crossed that I dont have to go burn down their HQ.

Beh, I crashed my second iPod drive about a month ago, I've still got to take it back(thank Solo for insurance). They don't seem to like getting knocked about in my day pack while I'm hiking.

Note to self: See if you can swap for a flash based MP3 player. Drive players are evil.

Well, I just unplug mine and replug it in and it picks up the signal.

So far, the signs point to the problem lying within my firewire ports, not my iPod (woot) so I'm working on either fixing those, or updating my OS so I can use usb.

Nope, some of the people in chat seem to have other plans for some of the parts (a server) but I still really want a gaming box... so.. harass High Voltage and the likes...
