After an exhaustive 2 hour search, i give up...
We were taught some basic Pastun(a dialect used in afghanistan in the area i am deploying to)...and we learned how to say hi and the like but i want a translator program so i can say things like"Put down your weapon" "Calm down" "Get on the ground" "hands up" things of that nature so i don't inadvertantly smoke an innocent afghani who couldn't understand my yelling. I also need this because i am on a theater activation team and i plan to be doing alot of sentry work and patrols, so i need to know this stuff. So either someone whose been to afghanistan and knows all these things from experience translate them, or some internet whiz kid can find and post the link for me. Also, if you would like to know something about afghani's, i just had my cultural awareness day and it was quite informative, so ask and i may be able to answer. Deepest thanks to all those who reply! |

I'm almost positive you could ask one of your supreriors and they would have like a handbook or something on key afghani phrases. Just a thought.

Canadian Bacon was a wicked movie. Dan Akryod, the police officer made
them write all the anti-Canadian profanities in both of our official
languages.
