Alrighty, Brown font it. I have one quick question before we start (seeing as we are in no hurry) Does the chart on the playing feild go letters or numbers on the vertical or horizontal?? Also, I would suggest (if you have a digi camera) periodically taking pics of your board and posting the layout just to make sure all is correct with game.

The rules state that the board is positioned with a white square on your lower right hand corner, and the Queen is on her color square.
From left to right, on White's side, are columns A-H, and from White side to Black side are rows 1-8. So from Black's perspective these are reversed. K = King Q = Queen R = Rook N = Knight B = Bishop P = Pawn x = captures (as in PxR) + = check (as in QxB+) e.p. = En Passant /Q = Promotes to Queen Edit: I'll be writing down the moves as we go. 1. White move Black move 2. White move Black move 3. etc... Edited by reifidom |

turn the board around (or go to the other side) and count left to right. same with the letters, just count up from the players side
