Hello paintballers, new to the forum here but hopefully you guys can help me out. Just purchased a Tippman A-5 with R/T. I did as much reasearch as I could on a barrell for it before I got a Smart parts 14'' barrel. Haven't got it in yet, but wondering if i made a good call. I play at my local field on a variety of courses, (woodball, urban, Etc.) Please advise and let me know if i need to purchase a diffrent barrel. |

Flatline. Most definetly. My first barrel was a fourteen inch Smart Parts Progressive. It was okay I guess. But absolutely no comparison to the Flatline. I find it accurate and it sure as hell shoots farther than anything else.

Reading the forums I get a lot off negative & positive about the flatline. But haven't heard anything negative on the Tear Drop. Anyone had both, that can offer some advice?

If you want to spend a little more get a DYE BOOMSTICK. the teardrop is good for the price.

Hey! The boomstick is over-rated! And the negative feedback you're hearing about the flatline comes mainly from people who either have no actual experience with it or didn't know what to do with it if they did have one. As long as it's installed properly, kept clean, and used with quality small bore paint, it's a killer! |

The flatline is ok, but by the time the paintball goes the extra
distance, it'll most likely not break on target, just bounce because
it's going so slow, atleast that's from my experience.
Also, never go with a boomstick, a big waste of money, almost any barrel would do fine, the Teardrop is a good choice. |

Hey! Thanks...I'll use you as an example. Now Mehs here doesn't really know what he's talking about so I'll clear up what he said. The flatline only makes the balls it shoots appear to go slower when in reality they lose speed more slowly than a regular barrel. This is because the spinning of the ball helps it to cut through the air better than a ball with no or irregular spin. So the result is less air resistance. And if you talk someone who has been shot by a flatty...ask to see the welt it left. Slow balls tend not to leave real nice welts. I'll be one to vouch that the flatline will leave very nice welts! Hope this clears up what Mehs said. And thanks goes out to Mehs for giving me a fine example of the the nonsense people talk of the flatline.

yes u made a good decision, and ur next barrel should defianatly be a flatline, the range just makes u feel like a god in certain situations, and the balls almost always break on impact at that distance dont listen to people who are flatline haters, they just broke a few in their barrel during cold weather with crappy paint. next barrel should definatly be a flatline, it intimidates people as well, everyone is always asking me if they can shoot my gun.... |
