good question .i was thinking the same thing , i want accuracy with power .the flatline seems to go str8 but its slow ,like glides in the air .too slow in my opinion .so is there another barrel which will give better accuracy and still keep the power and speed of the ball ,??? |

although as you say the balls seem to float with the flatty they do go an extra 100 feet and i cant fault the accuracy with mine, dont let the appearance of the shot fool you they still hit the target at a good speed.

If you play woodsball then get the flatline. If you play speedball or a combo of both then get another barrel like the All American or Bigshot.

price doesnt realy matter BUT .i dont want to go spending silly money on a barrel i am not happy with .(a friend bought the flatline for his 98.realy bad idea ,either the barrel is broke or its just rubbish /)so spending money on a barrel scares me a little . the boomstick is expensive .around same price as the flatline. the bigshot is very cheap but its pretty short 1 inch shorter than stock .i thought length would help with accuracy ??? the J&J barrel is cheap too and has good reviews . i think i will try a J&J or maybe a bigshot . |

i would say go to opsgear and get the the operator in 14" because that is what i have the barrel is extremely accurate and has a very good range but not quite that of the flatline. heres a tip for ya get a barrel that is micro polished not micro honed the polished barrels are a lot more accurate than that of the honed barrels like what comes stock on tippmanns because a friend of mine i honed 14" barrel and i have a polished 14" barrel and for accuracy my barrel is more accurate and also gets a lot more range because the barrel is so smooooooth. so get the opsgear operator 14" you wont regret it $49.95 but thats my $.02

Don't get a barrel past 12 inches. The only advantage to a longer barrel is that it is easier for your body to hold it steady in a straight line. Only the last few inches and barrel crown matter to accuracy. That’s why the Flatlines level off after the curve. Keep it clean and treat it with Militec-1 or Rain-X and you will be surprised how well your barrel actually does if shot from a real shooting position or bench. Remember it's paintball. Shooting 48 MOA @ 25 yards is normal. Be more concerned with regulating your pressure so that you have consistency and use good balls.

i got a flatline on my a5. i got no problems, its amazing in woodsball, u can hit someone from like across the feild. so i would go that way...u might have a problem with the weight though, a lot of my friends do... if so either lift weights, or just get a belt with a tank case, that will get the weight back to normal. the flatline is also EXTREMELY accurite.. so thats probably the best barral for woods, and for bein the back man in speedball.
