hey i just got flatline barrel for 98 custom and it has broken almost every paintball ive shot. today is the first day ive tried it and ive adjusted the velocity countless times, squeegeed twice after every brake, used cheap paint, but also switched to good paint which had less breaks but the balls lobbed terribly. i have as much patience at it will take to fix this up as long as i get some good suggestions from people.

Your biggest mistake is using cheap paint. The Flatline needs good paint or this will happen. And give your barrel a good clean (run hot water down it and squeege and let dry) before you try shooting again.

And was it cold outside? The cold makes even the best paint brittle and break easily inside. And the cold affects your range if your using co2.

Hey!

The flatline requires high-quality small bore paint.(anything PMI/RPS works well)

Also...like T.H. said, it needs to be clean, you should give it a good wash right out of the box.

Make sure your velocity is down between 260 and 270 fps, this will give you optimal performance.

And unless it's really cold, the paint shouldn't become too brittle.

And to expand on what T.H. said, when CO2 gets cold, it condenses which causes more liquid CO2 to form, which consequently, if introduced to your valve, will cause velocity spikes.(higher fps)

Also...make sure you're not chopping the the paint in the breech versus in the barrel itself.

If you shoot at high speed without an agitated hopper, you WILL chop paint.

Make sure u installed the barrel right too, the barrel and barrel adapter should have no gaps.Just got 1 too and i like it.

I ve been using Scorch- its small enough, has thich shell, and with a thick fill.I fired about 1000 rounds last weekend without any breaks at all.Make sure u get a fresh paint too.Diablo Heat and ZAp works great too!
