Ok, what i am looking for is simple. Gear. I am not sure what i should buy, but i have some ideas. My playstyle is pretty simple, and most likely common, i prefer stealth, but I am totally adaptable to the paintball sniper style(let's not turn this into a sniper debate PLEASE). I like to hit quickly, but not with a flurry of shots. Maybe one or two, so im not looking for a full-auto here. Range shouldn't be a problem. From what i understand, the range of a gun doesn't vary that much, but accuracy does. I would like an accurate model... Ok here's what i have come to so far but i am definately not a professional here and am looking for imput.
I am in no way a professional, and came to the sport when playing with a friends cheap pump gun from Wal-Mart, but it was such a rush i want to really get into the sport. Since then i've played a bit and really do enjoy myself. Imput would be greatly appreciated and is what i was looking for by posting this. I've been looking around for 3 or 4 days and this is what i've come up with. Please help a n00b? Edited by n00bpowah |

If you had a price range, that would be helpful. My bet is you're looking in the $300 range for all your gear, so here's what I'd recommend.
Gun-Tippmann 98s are great guns. Not much to say here. Barrel-I'd suggest either a Lapco Bigshot($50) or a J+J Ceramic($30) in 12" or 14". 10" barrels are just annoying to me. Trigger upgrade-Double triggers are good things. Just buy one and leave it on there. Switching between triggers is a waste of time. Stock-If you want a stock, go for it. I'd say just use the tank on the gun(what most speedball players do, for some reason woodsball players dislike it). Scope-Very mixed ideas here. Personally, I'd say it's useless, but I've met people who swear that as soon as people get into their sights they blow them away when using a scope. Check it out for yourself. Tank-I'd say go HPA if you can afford it. You can get a cheap steel HPA tank for about $60, or a carbon fiber ones starting at about $100 for a used one. If you're going to stick with a CO2, and decide to use a stock, I'd say go for a remote line, it makes everything easier to handle. Clothing-I'd suggest some BDUs, a cup is a good thing, and I'd suggest a V-Force armor mask. They're cheap and never fog. "Extra"-Rocket cocks are pretty good things. Unless you pick up a 98 Custom Pro(with the electronic trigger), or an RT(response trigger), you can just go with a normal hopper, no need to buy an electric one. |

It looks like you've done your homework. 98 customs are great start out guns that can be upgraded to preform like the best of them. As for a barrel, check out the LAPCO Bigshot, JJ Ceramic, or Flatty. The GTA double trigger kit is a nice upgrade. As for a stock, I personally like the CAR stocks. If you are wanting a scope, buy a Red Dot. TASCO is a great scope company. If you dont have the money for HPA, get a 12 or 20 oz CO2 tank. The remote line is nice because it gives you more mobility. For clothing, go to an Army/Navy store and pick up some BDUs. JT and V-Force are great mask companys, most of their masks wont fog. The rocket Cock will keep dirt and paint out of your bolt and is a great investment that will keep you from stipping your guna apart to clean the bolt. Stick with the stock hopper unless you plan on getting a firepower upgrade. As for refillers, you can probably find a cheap pack and pods at The evil empire(walmart) for cheap.

Pumpker'd; (V.) When a pump player runs up and shoots you at point blank range because you thought 20bps made you good.
