Ok me and a freind are in a full blown argument about what fans are for, he says there to cool you off.  I said there for your lenses, he said no his lenses don't fog. I think we all know its to make your lenses not fog, he also says his fan is silent completely.  Its one of them jt fans on your forehead.  Please prove him wrong cause im right and its bothering me lol.

I have the proto switch FS mask and a proto turbine fan for it, it doesnt really cool you off, its more aimed to hit the lens, and its not quiet by anymeans, I only use it if I ever fog up my thermal lens.

Hope that helps ...

They are not to cool you off, at all, they've never even claimed that in ads. Anyway, yeah, they're purely to defog your lenses, and as you read, they are not silent, at all.

He's wrong, if he doesn't beleive you, bring him in here.

They are to unfog your lens. But really, Fans are for people on the other team so they can quickly locate and walk up behind you laughing and shoot you in the head without you hearing a thing, except RRRrrrrrr. If you fog get a better mask or lens.

Just show him the description at most places that sell them.  It says that they help stop fogging.
