The proto is a little smaller and lighter. Also it seems like the membrane pads are a little more reliable on the Proto. I mean the three people on our team that had DM4/5's constantly had to buy new membrane pads. The other guy, Nick who had a Proto never seemed to have any trouble with his membrane pads. I would say go with the Proto.

If you want to spend 400 on little nick nacks good ahead. I still say proto cuz its cheaper, lighter, smaller, and more reliable. You just have to watch your o rings on ur bolt and if it starts leaking out the barrel replace ur o rings.

Proto>DM5
It's cheaper, and I've heard a lot fewer people having problems with them(specifically the membrane pads ScarFace was talking about). I have heard quite a few people complaining that their gun was messed up straight from the factory though, most of the time the o-rings on the bolt were in bad condition. |
