i know a squad buster isnt exactly an upgrade, or a
customization to your gun, but i was wondering, Exactly how
hard do you have to throw them in order for them to go off?

Pretty hard but they still dont often work. After you pull the pin, smash the thing against a tree, rock, your leg, or somthing hard then throw it (make sure youre holding the cap). This loosens up the bearings that hold the paint back. Also tightly wrap a few rubber bands around them.

many rubber bands? and the bands go around the BLACK part
of the granade..right?

No just slam it against somthing hard while holding the top, then throw it. One or two tight rubber bands around the middle of it will do fine.

Just make sure you shake them up real good before you play with them. I normally dont have any problems after a good shake.
