Turn the tank 3/4's of a turn counter clockwise, and shoot your gun until it stops shooting. It should stop after 10 shots or less. If it doesn't, turn it another quarter of a turn, and repeat the process.

It is a good idea to cock your marker before you put a tank on your gun. The reason being is that sometimes the drive spring is just strong enough to depress the valve slightly, which could cause a slow leak of air through your gun.

Hey swat, you're back. Good answer by the way.
You can also find what he said in the manual that came with your gun.

Make sure that you don't just take the tank off either, because it will just blow o-rings.  It also wastes CO2 and is fairly hard on the valve of the tank.

Turn the tank a bit until you hear a little bit of hissing and then just shoot a couple of times.  To put it on, make sure to cock the gun first.

It doesnt waste c02, the c02 that you see shootin from the tank area is just the stuff already in the hose.

Wouldn't it waste a little more, because some of the air is coming out of the tank when you unscrew it and the pin valve gets pushed half way open?

It might be a little more, but not more than a shot or so. Most of it is just from the air in the gasline.
