What is the advantage to polised internals? Does it make any difference?? I understand it would reduce friction. But there can not be that much friction,  can there be????

i don't know how big of a diffrence it makes in concistancy but the action feels smoother when you cock it, i don't think this mod in itself makes that big of a diffrence but when you add all your mods up all the little things add up to a more accurate, smoother and faster marker plus it's just fun upgrading it especially when you do the work yourself!!!

How is it done. Just a dremel, polish wheel and some extra light rubbing compound?

model 98.net shows how to do it but i think it's still down. when i did mine i sanded all the surfaces down with 220 grit sandpaper to remove all the overspray then use a dremmel with some kind of alum polish don't do it in your living room it's kinda messy don't forget to do the trigger area good luck

I used steel wool. It was hard work but it got the job done.

^^Me too. I don't have a Dremel so I had to use steel wool. You won't notice that much of a difference but your gun will run a little smoother and decrease the wear on your internals.

i also used steel wool, because of the fact that i didn't have
polish, and i was afraid i would polish too much, and i didnt
have a dremel

That's not how this forum works. You can't upload images onto this
forum. You need to host them and link to them. Check the FAQ in the
Marker Gallery on sites to host your pics.

So, back on topic... polishing your internals is designed to help reduce
the friction of any moving parts against your recievers. You should know
however, that polishing your internals can cause your marker to use more
air per shot and therefor be less air efficient. Unless of course you use an
RVA or a Regulator to control your velocity. Otherwise, if your still using
your stock FVA, you will lose a little bit of air efficiency.

you dont need to use sand paper or anything the inside of the gun is already nice and smooth all you have to do is get the paint off. use paint stripper its so much easier and when you use a dremmel and sand paper you risk ruining your gun. With paint stripper the risk of ruining your gun is very very minimal if your just careful you will be fine. you will get smoother shots better consistancy on your gun. Your velocity will also go up usualy. since it reduces friction your internals will last longer.

Just take your gun apart and look at the reciever halves where the front bolt is and the rear bolt is and you will see how much friction there is.
GO BUCKS!!!
