Had some free time here and there, made use of it. For those that either don't know anything about the Cyclone or want to better understand it (just not fully sure how it works). Here's your chance to get a view without having to take one apart.

Quote
CYCLONE OPERATION DETAILED BREAKDOWN.

Okay so here is how it all goes down. When you fire the marker there's a channel that the air flows through the CVX valve to propel the paintball. Well through one of these channels there's a port hole (right side) to vent out some of this gas. Tippmann says it's "excess" gas. Well not exactly. There isn't blowback gas that is just sitting there after the shot is fired, the Cyclone gets the air from the current shot before the air even reaches the paint. However once the air reaches the paint it shoots it down the barrel, just in time for the Cyclone to act and chamber the next ball. Perfectly timed.

Now as you can see from this animation the yellow portion is the gas source. Here's a breakdown of each individual part.

2-shaded green: Ratchet - Part Number 02-53
Blue: Feeder Axel - Part Number 02-49
Red: Feeder Ratchet Spring - Part Number 02-50
Light Blue: Plunger U-ring - Part Number02-63

So as the gas makes the way through the air fittings and into the shaft the U-ring expands. Holds air to make the plunger move forward. Think of it like you're sitting on a skateboard holding an umbrella. Gust of 50mph wind comes by… you're cruising! Same thing here.

As the plunger moves forward the Ratchet swivels around. The Feeder Axel doesn't move because the Ratchet Spring holds it in place. But once the Ratchet is all the way forward, by this time all the air is now pushing the ball out the barrel. So the air vents and allows the Plunger Spring to pull back. And back comes the Ratchet.

The Ratchet grabs onto the Feeder Axel and pulls it. As it does this the Cyclone Star will begin to spin. That process will chamber the next paintball into the A-5's breech.

Hope this helps. Any questions or comments feel free to leave.

Just so long the A5OG's server doesn't go down again! It'll be viewable. Though I'm afraid when their server gets busy (where it's hosted) it might show up the good ol trusted Red X!

*edit* Right now the server is busy, but I can still see the .gif working. Yay. That's very good news.

What Im trying to ask it do you have a plan on improving it at all?

I didn't know how it worked, and I have an A5.

Although now that I know how now, I might try to come up with something for it. Or a whole new "hopper" idea that I have been beating myself up trying to work out.

Thanks for speaking for the entire forum! Though seems like ya missed somebody, or more.

Sorry but not everybody knows how it works. Hell there are people who own Tippmanns that don't even know how the gun itself works! Let alone just this hopper.

So not to be rude but please don't speak on anybody's behalf besides your own. This is not here for a little necessarily "here is how it works, now here is how I plan to improve it". It's here to help those who don't know how it works. For those that want to know how it works. And to give those very people a better understanding so if something goes wrong they can help themselves much better without necessarily relying on asking for help here or getting a tech to fix it for them.

That's the point. Contributing to the Tippmann community.

I wish I had this when I had to take mine apart.

It wasn't too bad the feeder ratchet spring just got all bent up and we couldn't get it exactly right for quite some time.
