 Why don't paintballs have dimples like golf balls? "The dimples change the levels of pressure by bringing the main air stream very close to the surface of the golf ball. The dimples, or "turbulators," increase the turbulence in the layer of air located next to the surface of the ball. This high-speed air stream near the ball increases the amount of pressure behind the ball-thereby forcing the ball to travel farther." That was a quote about golf balls. Dimpled golf balls travel over 4 times farther than smooth ones. Doesn't this make sense?

Let your paintballs set long enough... They'll start to dimple by themselves...   and... turn kinda' ovalish; then not shoot.. straight... But yeah...

The dimples would create little areas for the co2 or nitro to get around putting less power behind it.

 Dang, I foregot about that. But what if they were used in a cannon that used a bucket to hold all of the paintballs in. I guess they would work with that.

the theory si good, but if it shoots farther it has more speed right? well not necisarily but rpesuming it does, most feilds have a max of 300fps, so you would have 2 ur pressure, n then u would loose the distance cuz u have less force.  if u relly wanna try it, do wut g0dhead said...let the mset the ywill dimple themselve n u will see that dimples = paintballers worst nightmare (for me atleast)

Marbalizer tried it but i think they said the dimples wouldn't stay indented into the paintball. Something like that was the problem.

The only way to get a ball with dimples would be to make them harder, hard enough that they'd be dangerous to get hit with.
