I am about to buy a J&J Ceramic Barrel but I would like to know is it that much better to have a 16 vs 14 inch barrel. I play woodsball, so isn't it a little hard to carry around a 16" barrel?

Yes, get the 14". Even better, 12" or 8"
All barrel lengths beforem the same. Thats right, having a longer barrel does not make it more accurate or shoot farther. Edited by You Wont See Me |

Well YWSM is right to a certain degree. Barrels about 8-16 will all perform the same. Anything longer you will notice distance starting to weaken. Anything shorter(like 2 or more inches), and a slight drop in accuaracy will show. |

Well I'm pretty sure they don't make Ceramics longer than 16" or shorter than 8", im not even sure they make the 8".

I would. My brother has a Ceramic, Personally I think the Lapco is of higher quality and has better accuracy.
But what do I know. |

Have no experience with it, so I can't help you on that one.
I've heard mixed things about it though. |

I hve a 14 inch lapco snapshot and it is so accurate and quiet. Also marbs and premiums match it perfectly.

yet they cut ur velocity to pieces... and supposingly "studies" have proven that 16 and 18 inch barrels do out perform smaller lengthed barrels in acuracy and in distance, but at a price of a higher velocity to power the ball. Idk if that is true or not, just wat i have heard. Go with the 14 in. will save u air and is safer. And if their is a difference then their is not much of a big one. |

I'd say get a 10" - 12". If you go around 14" - 16" you just lose velocity trying to get the paintball out of the barrel. Check out the video about it at www.webdogradio.us if it's up.

I use a 14" which works nice for pushing bunkers too. Although when you go to 16" or 18" your efficiency starts dropping.
