Got a flatline right now, thinking about getting another barrel for speed.

Don't feel like making my wallet cry, so nothing over 70 preferably unless the performance gain is that significant.

Any recommendations? And also paint that would work nicely with it. I was looking into getting a J&J S2 barrel. Oyea and what length? I was thinking something really short, but not sure if that'll affect performance at all.

Or should i stick with the flatline and get a red dot sight for my gun instead? Kind of don't want to bother having to get an offset mount.

i'm VERY new to paintballing.

I would get a new barrel for speed. I'd suggest the All American. It cost $70 and is the best for its price. As for the length its all personal preference. Don't go over 14" though, it just wastes air. If you play front then I'd go for something shorter like a 10" or 12". For middle go for a 12". As for back go for a 14".

I love the Lapco Bigshots.  Great barrel and cant beat the price.  Also, since it is medium bore, you can shoot a wide variety of paint through it well.

I have the 8inch Bigshot and see no difference in accuracy compared to that of the 10 or 12 inch.

There is no reason not to use the Flatline in speedball. It will allow you to make shots back-line to back-line very easily. Don't let anyone convince you that a Tippmann with a Flatline is too long for speed ball. The longer barrel actually allows you to lay the barrel into the air-bunker. The longer barrel lets the end of your barrel clear the the bunker while maintaining a minimum target for the opposing team. The Flatline is very accurate at these distances and the longer sighting radius makes it easier to shoot instinctively (without using the sights).

If your marker has a stock, I say remove that, but long barrels are really not a problem.
