Is the Flatline worth getting?

Before anyone says anything, I did search for this kind of topic and couldn't find it but here's my Q. Is the Flatline worth spending the money on for my 98c?

Shoot or be Shot

Trespassers will be shot,
Survivors will be shot again.

Not really worth it in my opinion, they may go far, but they usually never actually break when they go the extra distance. About $120 just to shoot further and a small chance of hitting an enemy who's far away doesn't sound worth it to me, especially when you can have more fun rushing up and suprising them.

Not worth the money for the 98C when compared to the price of other more useful upgrades. Although, good up for an already tricked out A-5, if you have money to blow.

Think and give them all you have from the beginning, and never weaken!

There were a couple posts that answered this question but, do they perform well, are they reliable?

I have been shooting the Flatline in my 98C for about a year. Certainly velocity is down by the time you reach out to 200 feet, but a hit on the head or on the goggles still breaks every time. I find my Flatline just as accurate as the other barrels at closer range. A lot of those long range shots are curved to one side due to the extended time of flight during which the wind has a chance to work on the ball...but I still make hits and kills at those distances with shots that I wouldn't bother to attempt with ordinary barrels. Keep an eye open on Ebay for used barrels. I have bought 3 use Flatlines for less than $60 each (one I got for $30). Sent them back for refurbishing which Tippmann does for free. Depending on distances my choices for the day is Flatline, Hammerhead Battle Stixx (both bought at half price on Ebay...Hammerhead was NIB) or a Stone Cold II (the only barrel I bought retail).

The ONLY draw back of the Flatline that is different than other barrels is the requirement for small to small-medium diameter paint. PMIs All Star works best in mine, but the cost is a killer($55 to $66 a case everywhere). I have switched to Diablo Heat with near equal performance to the All Stars at half the price. ($30.00 a case at 888Paintball.com)

it was worth it for me, i have it on my a-5, but i dont know how it works for a 98c, (it may work the same, i dunno)
