alright i went paintballin this past weekend and my gun would fire a shot and re cock then the next ball would hardly go 20ft and then it rapid fire for a second like it was runnin out of air (even though i had a full tank) then id need to re cock it again. then the process would start over with the single shot and then rapid with no power...i brought it home and took it completely apart and cleaned everything and re asembled and it is still doin the same thing. whats wrong with my gun?

gary, my A-5 did the same thing last weekend. my problem was my madman spring.  i was getting too much tension and the it was causing the marker to uncock and get no pressure. i chenged back to the stock spring (or you can try letting pressure off by backing out the RVA is you have one)

last night i was getting the 3 shot rapid fire then it uncocked. i don't know what was wrong with it because i had to break it down twice. the first time i was still doing it when i put it back together. but the second time i broke it down, i made sure that the valve was working right, the powertube was working right. do this by taking the internal section out from the black sleeve and moving the little rod in the back. this shows you that the valve is indeed opening and closing like it should. then while its open, blow into it through the slot where the tombstone would enter. proving that air is flowing.

i did all this. and then reoiled everything just to double check and put her back together and it works now.

sometimes its a fluke thing and the best way is to tear it down and do it again.

i hope this helps

well i dunno how this affects the guns firing but when i went paintballing and when i was playin around with my gun i didnt screw my tank on quite all the way. there was only a few milileter gap between it and the gun but it needed oiled and i couldnt turn it the rest of the way. so i figured as long as the pin was in and the tank valve was open it would work...nope. i oiled it today just because i knew it needed it and screwd my tank on all the way becasue i now could and it worked fine. unscrewed it a little and it went back to not firing right. how does this affect anything?

If the tank is only part way on, the pin on the valve will only be partially depressed. This starves the gun for air and could cause problems.

makes sence first shot was fine second was slow and third was acting like it was running out of air. well it was! just like your garden hose turn the valve part way on and depress the sprayer you get alot of pressure at first then it tapers to a trickle, same thing was happening to your marker
