i never understood why people think they have to shoot faster. if you keep 1 ball per second on someones bunker where they are at, they are not gonna look up.

Listen, you already own a great durable marker, in which you know the ins and outs right?  So from someone who play speedball in tournies and junk all the time, keep it, and install the e-grip.

Why buy a new Ion just cause they are new and people right now are talking about them.  That is just how things work.  If it's new, it gets all the attention, then after about six months you never hear about it again.

If you were to buy an Ion, you would have to start learning about a new type of marker.  I'm not sure about this, but I think those marker have to ru  of HPA.  So you would then have to upgrade your tank.

With an e-grip you could install, and be ready in less than two mins.  They are very easy to install, and you can very easily pull the trugger on an e-grip faster than the stock trigger pull.  You may not be able to use all the functions during a tourney, but the trigger pull is close to a mouse click on a PC.

This is just my view though.  I see no need to go all out, when you can see who your marker will function during a game, witha few upgrades.  If afterwards you want to start looking at other guns, then fine.  Yet know for sure, you want what you get.

True.  Though I am thinking like this.  Hell get a little more BPS out of the e-grip in semi than he would with the stock trigger.  That is one hell of a pull.

Speedball is a misunderstand game.

It does matter how fast you shoot. One of the steps to getting kills in speedball is not keep a man behind his bunker. Step two is to  make sure he can't move from bunker to bunker, I.E. filling the lanes with paint. Try running though a lane with 1 BPS. Its easy. Now, try it with 15 BPS in that lane. VERY HARD.

the basics of keeping someone's head down does not require slinging pain and hitting air. and it does not take 50 round fired in 4 seconds to hit someone. i am not suggesting that speedball or anything should be on shot on kill. thats expecting way too much. but if you can't hit someone without shooting that many pballs, then you either need to work smarter as a team in flushing out the opponent, or start being a slightly better shot.

Woodsball and speedball have this same concept. a man behind a bunker needs to be taken out. how? out smart, not sling paint.

sling it you want, but you don't have to. thats only the direction that side of paintball has taken. you become good as what you do, either style of play because we have to adapt to either woods or speed.

I am glad to see that some here understand how speedball is played.  I have been in many a tourney where A-5s, spyders, and other markers that are thought of as junk have taken out high end markers.  Hell, I shoot a 05 Karnivor, and I have been put out by a few.

If you have a well oiled team, good players, and good understanding of team play, then you will put out players that can shoot 15+ bps.

i agree, its not about how fast u sling paint but other factors contribute more to winning (though being able to shoot 15+ bps can get u out of some tight spots)
