Paint Removal

I need to remove my paint from my 98. I didn't remove it the first time because I wanted that 'thick' look, but now I want it to look thin, so it needs to be removed so just take like a scouring pad or some steel wool to it, or should I use paint remover?

Sandpaper would work.

Pretty much.  You could try using a Dremel.

Go to an autoparts store and get some of the fine grit wet/dry paper that you use for painting cars. I would suggest some 600-800 grit (removes rust for cars) for the rough, and a 1100-1400 (polish between coats painting cars) for smooth polishing. I've used this same paper on a lot of other metal finishing projects. It is cheap, cut the size you need of the sheets that come in the pack, get a little dish of water to dip the rough surface of the paper in when it gets gunked up. One pack of each type of paper should do ya for the small surface area of a 98. The dremel or a stiff wire brush may help you out on the harder to work areas. I would use a polishing compound on the dremel bit or the fine paper, once you got to the base paint.

Take the two halves, without the grips or internals, etc, and put it in paint stripper. Then wipe it off with a rag or something. I'd save sandpaper for last, since that would take the longest, and give you a rather uneven job.

Its aluminum, no paint stripper is not going to eat away METAL.
