Probably the most reliable gun Tippmann currently makes is the Pro Carbine. Stock barrels will always suck, regardless of what model it is, so.... take your pick.

Tippmanns work well in pretty much all conditions and almost never
break down. They are pretty much the most reliable and durable guns
made. All Tippmanns pretty much shoot the same out of the box and all coem with a terrible barrel.
Now they have come out with the Custom Pro that shoots faster than an average Tippmann because it is electric. Edited by ztbisme |

98 Custom, hands down.
I have two 98's, and they rock. I have an A-5, and it sucks. 'Nuff said ... ![]() |

i heard that A-5's were gas hogs and the guy that owns the store that sells paintball guns near em said that he was out palying during the winter and his A-5 froze up on him, and don't nkock pro carbiens to much there not that bad of a gun, so even if they don't got a fast fire rate out of the box you can modify them jsut to shoot as fast as the 98's and you can put a response trigger on thme it will need a little modification but you can still do it

i just got an a-5 like 3 days ago, i let my frnd use my Co2 to test his flatline on his 98c, and he busted the o-ring taking it off, so i havnt got a chance yet to try it. flatline will be bought next paycheck. i dunno how to quote the guy above me but about them being gas hogs, i heard they actually use air from blowback to move the cyclone feed system to save air. i dunno if its true but still, most places you play you get free refills when you are there, at least all the places near me.
