i have an a5 that cant seem to fire at a constant fps. i started with straight co2 w/o any expansion chamber or anything and figured that was the problem. i put a regulator on it, the fps jumped around from 220 all the way up to 280, never the same twice. i then hooked up a vigilante reg with hpa and the results were a little better. around 235 to 265.took the reg off and ran straight hpa. results even better but still not where i think they should be. it ranged from 240-260. it would stay consistant for about 3 shots and then jump around. i did all this with the flatline (dont know if that should make fps jump around). what should i try now or what am i doing wrong?

well, any single piece upgrade can affect your fps. so let start with this...

do you have an RVA? get one if not.

since you are having consitancy problems even with the x-chamber i would get a palmer stabalizer. male, famale or inline, whichever you like best. run that with a remote and you should do fine. the palmer is the absolute best. theres a break in period of 2000-3000 give or take shots. you can dry fire.

does it matter which brand or are they pretty much all the same?

Check for leaks, make sure all the orings are in working order.

c02 is also not consistent at all, and the vigilante won't help much, it isn't designed specifically to handle c02.

My unregged a-5 with nitro gets about +-10-15fps.

which brand of what?

RVA? do, they work the same, but i suggest the JCS RVA over DOP RVA

Palmer? palmer is the brand. get the male stabalizer and it screws into your tombstone, then you remote can hook in to that. provides a vertical grip as well. male, female or inline version from palmer all work the same. only difference it mounting.

sell any expansion chamber and reg you already have. Get a Palmer as the replacement. its amazing once broken in. every shot in the same place. when you shoot faster, its alot harder to get your shots perfect. but with my palmer and e grip, i can shoot on auto and hit a target as wide as a person (1 1/2 ft square).

with my palmer, RVA, FVA moded, and remote i am +- 3 bps with Co2

best prices are a hotshotpaintball.com from what i've found
Get the palmer

the palmer with Co2 is the best. nothing beats it. it was actually made with Co2 in mind. and you can also use HPA with it

umm...

Male since they are actually better to have used because they are broken in, the price will not drop much. i have seen Males go for 70 shipped. thats probably a middle of the road guess. as long as its not scratched up like crazy, don't expect to find them half off.

new ones from hotshotspaintball.com are 85 for the males and 75 for the female and 55 for the inline. you will need a remote to use the inline so its not raelly cheaper because you have to buy other stuff.

Yeah, I'm guessing there is a partial leak or something...   Strip, clean, reassemble.  Check o-rings and tighten everything.
