Topic: Bunker Making Posted: 21 July 2005 at 9:46pm |
|
Me and my friend are putting a feild up for personal
use. It is in a gravvile clearing in the middle of the
woods. I was wondering if anyone had any good ideas that we could
build upon. Let me know as soon as possible because we would like
to have the bunkers up by Mid August.
Thanks.

Plywood raised vertically, two or three 2x4's(or maybe bigger) perpendicular thereto.
Lots of them. Vary their heights. Make sure they are pressure treated.

Ask for the stuff that home depot throws away. Also, try pallets, heavy blankets strung between trees, etc.
Or move rocks/dig up some gravel into mounds.
You want a field, you're either going to have to put out, or work your ass off.

thanks
I know of a place that has like 1000 pallets, but paintballs can sneak
through them, so I will see if I can find some old blankets or
something to ut over em.
keep the ideas comin though...

speedball or woodsball? Youre name is ionkid so im guessing speed but ive got ideas for woods. Dig trenches about 3.5 feet deep and put wood in the bottom to keep them from collapsing and getting all soggy. Then put sticks up about a foot away from each other and put logs in them.

big plastic barrels, or go to some construction site, and ask someone
if you can take their scrap, crappy wood, they usually have a whole
trailer that has crappy wood in it.(not crappy as in rotting and have
holes, but liek stuff they cant use)

Hey!
Pallets can be found in several places...lumber yards, hardware stores, even grocery stores.
If you see some just lying out...stop and ask if they're needed any more and if they're not...9 times out of ten...the place will be happy to hand them over and get them out of their way.
And you can use just about anything to fill the gaps in them...if nothing's lying around the house...just stick some small logs up in front of the gaps.
Another good suggestion is one that meteora already made and that is to stop at a construction site and ask if you can take some scrap off their hands.
Trust me...I work for a construction company that builds(frames) houses and there's always a ton of scraps lying around.
Anything you want...plywood, OSB, 2x's ranging from 2-12, 1x's with the same size range, 4x4's, T 1-11...even scrap sheets of Tyvek which would work great for sheeting over some palets...that stuff is tough.
The stuff's always getting in the way and I guarantee that if you were to come ask my foreman...he'd tell you to take every last bit of it.
But be creative and good luck!
