Thats why they wre quoting it. Because a thermal lense shouldn't fog in the first place.

i dont see why it wouldnt work, the only thing that makes it a thermal lense is the fact that it has two lenses with air between them

The guys at the local dive shop said they use toothpaste (not gel) on their diving masks and it works fine.

Spit works on goggles for swimming, why wouldn't it work for paintball?  I also thought that there was a coat of something on the thermal lenses. I was reading the instructions on mine and it said not to use any fog resistant sprays or else the lns will be damaged. Why is that?  It doesn't matter to me, I am just wondering because room temperature water works great.

the anti-fog spray can break down the adhesive that binds the 2 layers together. Any leaks in the foam, and the lense will fog up like London.

thats what im wondering will shaveing have the same effect? As far as spit and toothpaste i'm also a diver toothpaste would work but you would spend too much time rinceing it out spit would work also but you need a bucket of water to rince. In the ocean all you have to do is brek the seal around your mask let in some water swish around alittle bit and hold the top of your mask and blow the water out thats easy to do in the water in the woods next to impossible

I have a thermal lens and it does fog when your are running a lot and breathing hard...even in the Summer. Any chemical that breaks up the surface tension of water will work. Dish detergent is one of the easy soaps to use. I take a small piece of old tee shirt(6X6 inches), put three or four drops of dish detergent on it. I then put just enough water on the cloth to very lightly, and I mean lightly, moisten then squeeze and twist the cloth until the moisture and soap have dampened the whole thing.

I keep it in a small plastic bag. When I need anti-fog, I make sure the inside of the lens is dry then polish it with the detergent dampened rag. This works as well, and I am not kidding, as any of the commercial anti-fog chemicals on the market. I first started using this anti-fog method on my goggles and glasses when I was teaching skiing in Utah. If the rag begins to get too dry add a few drops of water, reseal the bag and let it sit overnight. If you get it too wet, just squeeze it till it's as dry as you can get it and toss it back into the baggie.

Spittle works well also, but it is just a little messy when you cannot rinse your mask with water.
