I bought a 98c and i'm really into speedball, but cant afford a decent gun and resale for 98's is not good. Right now i have:

14" cp classic
68/3000 hpa
halo b w/ rip drive
promark stick trigger

The halo and tank i bought at an annual sale at my proshop, simply because i figured it was a good idea since i knew i could use it on a better marker when the time comes. So is the e-bolt a good idea for me? btw i really want a good marker so i'd be saving for a long time (really want to skip the ion/bushy stage). I figured i'd keep the 98 with ebolt as a backup, how are they for those who have used them?

If you can get an E-Bolt pretty easily, as you said in another post, I'd go for it. It will make your 98C into a ball spewing dragon. You'd be amazewd at how many high end shooters ask to try my son's marker on the speedball course.

There is some question as to whether Tippmann is going to offer the E-Grip as an accessory for the 98C. One might take the E-grip from the Pro and adapt it (it cannot be that hard). But without that or the E-Bolt there really is no way to make the trigger light enough to fire as rapidly as is needed on a speedball course. And I don't mean being able to just shoot a lot of paint. A fast trigger gives you the ability to pop out and snap shoot two or three quick shots, getting on target, in the split seconds that offer themselves on the speedball field. Something you just cannot do with the stock 98C...I speak from experience. With the stock gun you can stay in the back line bunker and occasionally get off A shot. With the E-Bolt you can move and lay a little paint to keep their heads down while you do.

If you can get a decent price on the E-bolt, it will make the 98 into a new marker. Another neat thing is being able to drop operating pressures, because the regular bolt no longer has to be cocked by blow-back.

If you can get it that cheap I would do it. It would be just as good as a bushy and better than an Ion Imo.

When they do release the e grip for the basic custom pro it will probably cost just as much.

GO BUCKS!!!
