    Posted: 30 July 2005 at 7:25pm

I have recently bought a Tippmann a-5 second hand. The problem I am getting is it will only fire about one shot and then as you pull the trigger all you here is the trigger clicking. Its not jamming and its not the tank (refilled it). It does sometimes fire if I cock it again. I am using an A-5 with E trigger and a 20 oz co2 tank.

Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be?

sounds like the rod in the e-grip is not tripping the sear.

is the clicking very faint and soft or somewhat loud?

if its a faint click then its not tripping the micro switch poprerly. if it loud then the sear isn't tripping the valve when the rod hits it.

Can you borrow a stock grip to try, to see if the E-Grip is the problem?

Actually come to think of it when I did install the battery, I didnt check the instructions about the rod (Armature Pin). I am certain that is the problem. It is a loud click by the way. Just wish i hadnt sent it in to get serviced before checking the boards..

Ironic

Thx anyway

Just to clarify, if the grip is off when being stored, will the battery still drain???  I know in the past when you go from air conditioning to a hot humid day you get some condensation  ( moisture, from the marker going from cold house into the humidity) and that will also effect the batteries stored energy..

I think almost all electronic devices drain the batteries slightly even when they are off. Has something to do with the terminals touching metal, not necessarily the board using energy.

I never take my battery out between the times I play.  I have about 200,000 rounds through my E Grip and am on my second battery.
