    Posted: 31 August 2005 at 4:17pm

At my house in Western North Carolina gas was 4.00 a gallon as of an hour ago. Now we're out

Completly out no gas stations have any gas. So if you live some where that still has gas fill up now.

Yeah there is pipe line that runs from the gulf to a refinery or something like that in Spartenburg SC but now the line is dry. So the gas station have no gas. They have 100 gallons at each station but its for EMT Police and fire

gas here is $2.73 for regular. It went up 10 cents after Katrina.

The U.S. has to do something. This is getting out of hand.

Yeah.  I wish that damned President Bush would clap his hands and make there be more gas.  He can do it.  I saw it the other day.

yeah, gas at a station near my house just shot up like 45 cents in one day. the government just released 7mil barrels of oil out to the country today, it was on reserve in texas for situations like this. hopefully it will stabalize the prices back about 45 cents or so.

I was being serious. Bush can do something about it if he wanted to, but why would he want to do something aobut it. He has stock in the oil companies. There is a law that keeps businesses from raising the price of anything due to a disaster. For instance when a hurricane comes you can't raise the price of ice or you could be sent to jail, but yet the gas prices have steadily went up every hurricane that has come through. I don't see anyone punishing them. That's just one example. This is ridiculus.

So that poor you can spend a little less for the time being?  What happens when we get into WWIII and we use all that up, and our allies can spare us none.  I think we might just be up poo-poo creek.

At 7am this morning it was $2.99. At 2:30pm this afternoon, it was $3.50 in western Michigan area. My friend went and got gas during 2nd hour and warned me it was going up to $3.50 all around here. So I left during lunch and got gas for $3.00.

This pertains to the simple law of suppy and demand.  Because of Katrina the supply went way down while the demand stayed the same.  The only thing they can do is raise the prices.  They are not raising it because Katrina happend.  Rather, they are raising it because of the damage Katrina inflicted.  Big difference.

Oh, please do tell me some things Bush can do to alleviate the situation.  I'm all ears.
