Is a cradle really necessary for an n2 tank? If it is what brand is good to get,etc? and what kind of cradle should i get?

no...a cradle or drop/asa is not necessary for N2. Any normal bottle will mount into any standard asa. A regulator is necessary though if you plan on going low pressure. a cradle is for the armageddon (and copies) tanks that are not threaded. The jaw of the cradle mounts on the bottle regulator to hold it in place while you use s/s hose or macro to run the gas to the in-line reg. However...some companies market 'drops and asa's' as a "cradle". The one I speak of (above) looks like a drop with a shaped "jaw" on it to hold the bottle. As long as your tank is threaded like any other 'normal' tank...any drop/asa combination will do. Personally, I like CP Unimounts.
