I am thinking of getting an ION and using my 98c as a back-up, I want
to do this because it will cause wayyy too much money for me to upgrade
my tippy to tourney specs, and that is money I just dont have,
anyway... is the ION a good marker? I dont want to make a mistake in
buying it if you know what I mean...

You dont need a $1500 marker to be the best.

I think its great and its not this cheap plastic marker like everyone else says. Its very tough plastic and its a tournament level gun. So I'd get one. I am sometime soon. if you want to know some reviews on ion owners go Here and read the reviews

hey thanks man, those reviews pretty much made up my mind, now all I
need is the MONEY, I know this gone doesnt cost a lot, but being 15,
not many people will hire you...if you know what I mean, I guess I will
have to keep saving... and I guess I just drop my 98c project... not
that I dont like my tippy... I LOVE my tippy and will keep it, but I
just need something a lil bit more competitive and on the tourney
grade...

Buy a used/new cocker, for the same price you can get a gun that is made so much better and is reliable. Sure you can get the Ion and get high BPS and little weight, but if you look at it in the long run, your better off buying a nicer gun in the first place and keeping it. YOu can buy a mech. cocker and save up money so that later you can put an e-blade or whatever on it. Thats just my 2 cents. |

Yes.
Upgrades youll want/need. HPA If ya dont allready have a bottle. Or anti-syphon co2. I recommend Air (HPA) tho. QEV Valve. Your internals are less likely to leak with the QEV (Quick exhaust valve). Next, New Feed neck. Preferably a clamping style neck. New Barrel, I use and love the 14" St!ffi. Very quiet and pretty much self cleaning on ball breaks. CP Blade Trigger CP Rail and ON/OFF asa. CP has a very nice On/Off I use it and again love it. Then after that you can do cosmetic ups, like a new metal (aluminum) body, there are allot out and more comming out each week. New grip frame, There is at least one new grip frame out that I know of, I'm sure more will hit the market. DYE Sticky or Hybrid grips. Total cost is around $600 or so in the end depending on if you have HPA. Dont qoute me on that number it is a rough guess. But for the money you have a very nice tourny gun. Almost half the price of the "higher end" markers. |

Defintely the ion. It rips right out of the box. And as someone already
said, there are new upgrades coming out for it every week.

Ebolt = Over $150
Hopper = $80-$150 Do the math! And the E-bolt inst worth the metal it is made from. Buy the ION. |

No, the Ion was ruined when it was made by SP. How can you ruin something that is already bad?

Buddy...Have you even ever played with a decently upped Ion like
say....Mine? You will see that it is not that bad of a marker....
In my opinion and I'm sure alot of others a marker that shoots 17bps stock out of the box, has beambreak eyes, and is LP for $280 is very good....Some of us like to actually play instead of just shooting their marker in their backyard cause they spent all there money on there $900+ setup Edited by Sureshot3091 |
