I recently purchased a second-hand tippmann A5. Disensemblied it an it all looked fine. All parts are there, they are clean and intact. But when trying to fire the marker (equiped with the e-grip) it goes wild. When trying to fire one round, the marker fires of the ball but also aditional empty gas-shots. It is like having no control over it, does more or less what it wants. Also suffered major ball breaks in the barrel and in the cyclone feeder. I have no experience of paintball markers and can't figure out whats wrong. When firing the marker without paintballs it seems to work fine, cyclone feeder moves accordingly to number of rounds set on the e-grip. Any suggestions to what's wrong. Can I repair or adjust on my own or should I turn to Tippmann Inc. ? thanks, Andy from Sweden

Did you shoot it before you disassembled it?

NASA and the Americans spent millions of dollars and hundreds of hours to develop a pen that would write in space.....The Russians used a pencil.

remove the grip and pull out your trigger assembly.
Does the sear have a round opening or an oval? Does the trigger still have its metal clip installed? |

I'd say check out the A5OG or send it in to Tippmann. They'll fix it for free.

Hi, Thanks for your advice. I did'nt test shoot it before the disassembly. I do however think I put the marker thoroughly together. Problem is that when put in i.e single round mood (e-grip) the marker goes wild when i fire it. It's more lika a automatic mode, a lot of empty gas-shots. Occationaly, lets say 1 out of 10, it performs well and fire that one ball with one gas puff. Also in the other fire modes the marker is uncontrolable. Finally I end up with ball breakages in the barrel and in the cyclone feeder. I get the feeling this isn't something I can fix myself. How much would Tippmann Inc. charge me for servicing the marker or is it possible they do it for free as somebody here suggested. Think I still have warranty on the marker. Ohter than this it seems to be a nice marker.... thanks, Andy from Sweden |

Tippmann usually just fixes, with no particular charge. But - do you have a regular grip? This could be a problem with the E-Grip or with the hammer/valve. If you could put a regular grip on there you could see if it is the E-Grip or not. |
