The RT is not usually tourney legal.

As for the chopping issue, check your detents. Perhaps yours is worn out and need a new one. Paint quality?

Worth a try. If it's really doing 20 (which I doubt) then the Halo may be having trouble keeping up.

How old is the ball detent...that little pink finger in the bottom of the breech. If it is 6 months to a year old, replace it.

Next check your hopper to make sure the drive cone has the proper pre-load. You also might adjust the height of the hopper in the feed neck...up or down...just different from where it is right now.

Now, probably the first thing to check is the paint. Before you try any of the other suggestions, switch to a different brand of paint. My marker was working perfectly until I switched to another brand of paint. All of a sudden every 3 or 4th ball was breaking in the breech or in the barrel. I had used this brand before with no problem. Dealer took it back and exchanged it for the same brand but of a later lot number. The replacement paint operated perfectly.

During the time it took to get new paint I did several costly mods to my marker. One change was to install an after-market forward bolt...it made no difference at a cost of $30. I tried several other things that cost less still to no avail. When the new paint arrived I fired over 2000 rounds without one single broken ball. Sometimes the paint is the culpret. Some tournament paint, even some rec paint is just too brittle to cycle through the Tippmann.

Another issue I've heard of- your Halo B is adjusted wrong. You probably have it set to a higher feed rate because you think you're shooting 20 bps. More than likely, you're not. You have to really understand the Tippmann and the R/T to fine tune it perfectly with a few mods to reach 20 bps. It sounds like to me you hear it shooting faster than what you could do before, so you're automatically assuming your gun is the Awesomzorz and Shootzorzing 20 bps. There is a setting somewhere on the Halo to turn it down. It sounds like its trying to feed way too fast and smashing paint.

Might try the Control Panel icon next to the Solitare icon. J/K

Or, it could just as easily be bad paint. It would help if you could actually describe WHERE it's breaking. Is it a CHOP (breaking in feed neck, entry to breech, bits of shell around/ behind front bolt) or is it a BREAK (breaking at beginning/ middle of barrel, broken IN breech and not in feedneck).

Is the battery in the Halo old or new?

A regular mech RT can not do 20 bps, its capped at 15 and thats when using the Sweet Spot, unless you did a trigger mod.

And most tourneys wont allow the use of the RT but, to make sure, check wit the rules.
