Ion is waaaaaaaaaay better for speedball. The A-5 is a better woodsball
gun. Personally I'd go with a 98 and deck it out, as that would
probably be the best gun for speedball/woodsball. However, to answer
your question, I'd say ion.

I play both and like the ION over the A-5. It's lighter, less quiet, faster bps and so far for me more reliable than my old A-5.

^I'm pretty sure you meant quieter, but yeah, I would also say the ION.
*Edit* Also, anyone that has a faulty A5 must be due to owner-error. Edited by Zesty |

I guess the three trips my A-5 took to the technicians at Tippmann that did nothing to help were my fault too, right? I think NOT!! Maybe I just got a bad one, I don't know, but my experience was bad enough that I would never own one again period. |

Yep, that... I dont know, I was going through cyclones like paint it seemed. Unless I fept getting used cyclones from my sponsor I dont know. It seemed like the more $$ I put into my A-5 the more it broke down. |

I'm sorry, but you guys are just too easy! I was just joking around about the owner error part.....I really don't care who rocks an A5 and who doesn't, I don't work for Tippmann and have no interest in what other people are buying so long as me and my people get what we want.
I always laugh, because I'm a member of a few other forums(NON p-ball), all of them of more serious and intelligent nature, but they still aren't as uptight or hyper-defensive as 99% of the dorks on this FREAKING PAINTBALL FORUM!!!!! Jeeze, I guess I just figured since you invented the word, you were immune to it's ill-effects....."sarchasm" ring a bell? LOL You guys take things way seriously. Get a fish tank. |

Well shoot, Zesty, and here I was afraid that you would be offended that you weren't taken seriously. Besides, see how well your analytical skills function when you have had 5 hours of sleep in a 58 hour period sometime. I really don't see where either of our responses was over the top in any form or fashion. I don't, however, want people to get sucked into a bad deal like I did just because the product in question says "Tippmann" on the side. The trust level in terms of quality took a major hit with the A-5, IMHO, and it will take some great rebound work to regain my unquestioned devotion. Geez, don't take things so seriously. It's not like I threatened to scalp your Woobie Bear ... THIS TIME ... ! |

Someone finally feels the same way. Some ppl think they know everything just because it worked for them, defensive is a very good word for these forums. Thank you, Zesty. I needed to hear that from someone else. |

Thank you, Justice, I'm with you. If they aren't being as defensive as they are accusing others of being, why are they raising such a fuss? Yo, pot it's kettle ... guess what ... ? |

Okay, to clarify for the thick.....I bought a Flatline and hated it...I feel it's a worthless barrel for the useful player. I bought it brand new, it was fully functional, it just sucked. It wasn't anything I did wrong, it was that I fell for all the hype and all the Flatline fanboys said it was the greatest thing ever and NEVER commentd on the quirks or shortcomings of the barrel.
hway bought an 5 and it was a lemon. I am fine with that. I really don't care what he shoots. But then he has the nerve to say anyone who doesn't like the Flatline is not intelligent enough to use one, when we could say the same thing about him and his A5....get it? It's called hipocracy, and not seeing the big picture. The only reason I'm defensive, is because I'm trying to joke around and you guys are too dense to see it....I'm making fun of your stance on the Flatliine/A5 issues, and the fact that every Flatline fanboy tells someone who doesn't like the Flatline it was their fault. And to Justice, I'm definitely old enough to drink a beer, but I'm not a poser like that! If you know mem you know my pockets always full of chronic or some cash that I'm on my way to throw down on it! |

so to clarify again.....anybody that doesn't like the Flatline has their unhappiness unrightfully blamed on themselves...operator error.
HwayHazrd is one of those people...if you don't like the Flatline he calls you stupid. yet he had an A5 that didn't work right, and when someone tells him it's his fault(joking, unlike him), he gets all defensive. Again, I AM MAKING FUN of you twos lack of wit and interpretation skills....I was making an obvious joke with the "owner error" comment and it flew right over your heads...congrats. I don't know what a Woobie Bear is, but if it has anything to do with my donk, that was totally uncalled for and borderline homo-esque. |

Yomillio, thanks for getting me.....if you knew what "sar-chasm" was and who invented the word you would see exactly how much irony I am in this thread.
