People will disagree with me but you will get less shots with an RT, and even less with a cyclone.  If you get an RT your shot to shot consistency will be terrible with CO2.  Just buy a egg or sometihng

I know it will go down, just wondering how many more it would go down. My friend really wants one, Finding out for him.

Get an Evo 2. Faster, around the same price, and no co2 usage.

it would decrease the amount of shots you get since both will be using CO2 or whatever your shooting for gas. so this will result in less playing time, and more money spent on refilling your tanks.

like a good majority of everyone on this thread said, just get a better hopper.

I wouldn't put a cyclone on a 98 unless you wanted to keep it all mechanical. The cyclone will max out 14-18 BPS, ask yourself if you really need more then that.

As far as the RT and Cyclone using more gas, they don't! They use excess blowback gas. An A5 or 98 uses the same amount of gas for each shot, regardless of you velocity setting. The velocity adjuster screw creates turbulence in the power tube to interupt the gas flow and change the velocity, but it doesn't act as a valve controlling the volume released each shot. The excess gas is vented off after the shot, and this excess fuels both the cyclone and the RT. Inspect the marker and this is clearly evident.

The A-5 and 98 are gas hogs with very similiar internals and this is why some may blame the RT and cyclone for inefficiency. My A-5 has both a Cyclone and a RT. I get +1200 shots per 20oz CO2 tank, but I have a regulator and RVA.

Think and give them all you have from the beginning, and never weaken!

My friend wants his gun all tippmann. Everything he can get on it. It doesnt matter about how much air it uses. He have 4 50lbs co2 tanks we use. I would just like a number on how many shots he would get with 98c r/t and cyclone

Your right about less shots because the both use air to function, but i really dont know about drammatic velosity fluctuation.
