Well, I am of the opinion that the Wrath is similar (not too similar though) to an Intimidator. To me, the guns had a similar feel to them, and I really like the trigger and reg on the Wrath. I would have bought a Wrath, but my local store charged like $70 more for that than an Ion, so I'm going with an Ion. I really like the Wrath, and the only thing keeping me from buying it was the fact that my local store is run by a bunch of idiots.

A-5: more durable, much heavier, not as gas efficient, has a dedicated hopper, army looks. Stock A-5 is not as fast, and requires upgrades to get the best speed. Does not come with breakbeam eyes or a regulator. For the best performance from an A-5, you would have to get the E-grip or the Response Trigger and a regulator. Stock A-5: about $230. A-5 with E-grip: $330. A-5 with Response: $270. Lifetime Warranty. Wrath: not as durable, lighter, more gas efficient, and looks good. Faster than an A-5 e-grip or response, especially with the T-board (get a fast hopper). Comes with breakbeam eyes, a good regulator, and an LCD screen with game timer and a shot counter. Stock Wrath: about $250. Wrath with T-Board and fast hopper (Halo B): $440. 90-day warranty. You must sign up (no cost) for the 1-year warranty. This decision depends on what you like to play most. Since you like woodsball, I would recommend the A-5. It is great straight out of the box, is super durable, and is upgradeable. It also looks like a scenario gun, and with upgrades it will scare the crap outta little kids at the field. The A-5 can even hold its own on a speedball field (Tippmann Effect uses them). The biggest gripe about the A-5 is that it has to be upgraded to get really good performance from it. The Wrath is an excellent tournament gun. It isn't quite as durable, but it is faster and comes with the eyes and regulator. Add the T-board, and this marker competes with the best. I would recommend this one for tourney players, although I did use my Wrath for a 24 hour scenario game, and it was wonderful. Also, if you get the Wrath, make sure you register for the extended warranty after you get it. I like both the Wrath and the A-5. In fact, if I could sell all of the other backup markers I have, I would get myself an A-5 with a response trigger to go with my Wrath. Then I would have a great marker for woodsball and a great marker for speedball: all under $1000. Hope this helps. Good luck in your decision. |

i'd get an ion instead of a wraith, but if its strictly between those 2, i'd get the wraith! tippmanns are nice, and i had one (just sold it), but even if you do play woods ball, it doesnt mean you have to have a mil-sim gun. about the durability, you wont need that if you take good care of your gun, i dont think you plan on accidentally throwing your gun! i played with my freinds ion last week, and i did so mutch better with it in the woods than i ever did with my a-5! i could shoot around bunkers with it better too. . . . . What i can't stress more is that if you look at the a-5 with the hopper on, you'll see that the hopper overhangs the gun from the right side! so in order for you to shoot on the right side of a bunker, you have to stick your gun out a little bit, and stick you head out even more to the right to actually see what your shooting, and that leaves you out in the open! but some people say, just look through the site. 1st it makes it almost impossible without a jt flex mask, 2nd you have a HUGE blind spot on your right side!!!!!!!!! also, if you do decide to get a flatty (which i strongly disagree) it weighs more. now, i'm no **edited**, and i can muscle it up, but even after long periods of times, it can get very tiresome with a tank, a full hopper, and a flatline!!!! _____bottom line, get an ion or wrath_______ its worth it!!!!!_____ Edited by Optiquest |
